SNEAK PEEK: Vanessa Hudgens Is the New Candie’s Girl

Looks like Vanessa Hudgens is the next Candie’s girl! Following on the heels of Britney Spears and Fergie‘s highly-successful runs, the junior brand has chosen the High School Musical star as the face of their Spring campaign. “Ever since I saw Fergie do the ads for Candie’s, I fell in love,” Hudgens said in a release. “It’s such an honor to be a Candie’s girl.” The campaign, which was shot by fashion photographer Tony Duran, will kick off this March with ads appearing in magazines, billboards and online for the brand, which is sold exclusively at Kohl’s department stores and kohls.com. Hudgens enthuses about the shoot (see a behind the scenes shot below!),”We had a blast shooting the campaign, one of my favorite sets was using the diner countertop as a runway, it’s definitely not every day I get to do that.” We have a feeling the multi-talented 22-year-old’s flirty and fun style will be the perfect match for the juniors’ line! Yes, Jodie Sweetin knows her new sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring bears a resemblance to the one that’s graced the hands of Princess Diana and princess-to-be Kate Middleton. But no, that’s not why her fiancé, Morty Coyle, chose it. “He actually had the ring picked out a few months ago, before the prince’s engagement,” says Sweetin, 29. “But I’ll take comparison to royalty, that’s not too bad!” Coyle — who proposed to Sweetin at her L.A. birthday party Jan. 18 — had his own romantic reasons for selecting this particular sparkler. “Morty said it reminded him of my eyes,” says the actress. “He wanted something unique and something that looked like me. Not too traditional.” The ring, an original from Erwin Hesz jewelry, is made up of a 2.5-carat oval-cut sapphire surrounded by 18 diamonds in a snowflake pattern for a total weight of around 3.75 carats. And though the couple isn’t in a hurry to rush down the aisle, Coyle says that doesn’t mean his beloved shouldn’t have a beautiful token of his affection. “Just because we weren’t married,” he told PEOPLE, “doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve a ring.” – Rennie Dyball

Pete Wentz’s Son Inspires His New Gel-Free Coif!

The Designer Details of Natalie Portman’s One-of-a-Kind Engagement Ring

When it came to designing Natalie Portman‘s engagement ring, the star’s choreographer fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, relied on his leading lady and the art of ballet for inspiration. Looking to create a one-of-a-kind love token to reflect Portman’s unique sensibilities, Millepied called on former dancer pal and jewelry designer Jamie Wolf. “Ben was exceptionally thoughtful and dedicated and patient to make sure we had everything right,” Wolf explained to InStyle. “We wanted everything about the ring to speak to things that are important to Natalie.” The glittering diamond-encrusted design centers around an antique diamond, surrounded by certified conflict-free stones and made of recycled platinum — thus appealing to Portman’s earth-friendly and vegan lifestyle. And much like Millepied, the designer always incorporates her own dance discipline into her pieces. “My career with the New York City Ballet definitely influenced the aesthetics of my designs; everything I love has a distinct femininity to it, a certain ease and grace,” Wolf told the magazine in November. “To quote one of my favorite ballet teachers, ‘No one wants to see how hard you are working.’” We’re sure the Oscar nominated bride-to-be can relate to that!
