Blake Lively Named Chanel’s Newest Face

Blake Lively is on a roll! The fashion darling, who already has a Christian Louboutin shoe named after her, has been tapped to front Chanel’s new Mademoiselle handbag line, reports WWD. “She’s a kind of American dream girl” says designer Karl Lagerfeld of the French design house’s newest face. The blonde beauty, who spent much of her time in Paris last July mingling with fashion royalty during the couture shows, was photographed by the designer himself at Chanel’s Rue Cambon headquarters for the new campaign. For the actress, being photographed in the historic apartment where Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel once showed her collections was humbling. “A dream come true is an understatement. I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around.” Lively, whose ads are slated to run in April magazines, joins an elite club of stars who have posed for the house of Chanel, including Diane Kruger, Lily Allen and Vanessa Paradis. “Though I am the face of [the handbag], I will carry it like every girl,” Lively said. “I will always feel it’s more than just a purse. It’s a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful ‘CC.’” –Justine Harman

Prince Harry Beats Out Prince William on GQ’s Best-Dressed List

Prince William Prince Harry GQ Best Dressed List
Sipa

Newly engaged Prince William might be second in line for the British crown, but his younger brother, Harry, it seems, is the royal family’s leader when it comes to fashion. The ginger-haired prince earned himself a fifth-place spot on GQ UK’s annual Best-Dressed List, beating out his blond sibling, whom the magazine ranked as the 27th most stylish man. The royals share a love of classic English fashion, so what might have set the younger prince ahead of his brother? “He’s well dressed in the sense that he looks really good because he really doesn’t care,” an editorial expert says of Harry’s laid-back sartorial approach. The elder prince, however, has earned a style fan in fellow fop Pharrell Williams. “I like it when Prince William goes dandy,” the singer says. “He’s got all the proper wardrobe when they do the hunting thing. They kill that!” Which prince would you rate as more stylish, William or Harry?–Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester

EXCLUSIVE: See Valerie Bertinelli’s Wedding Dress

Valerie Bertinelli's Wedding Dress by David Meister Revealed
Courtesy David Meister; Inset: Berliner

When designer David Meister got a call that Valerie Bertinelli needed a wedding gown in less than two weeks time, he didn’t blink. He’d created dresses for the actress since 2008, and they were easy collaborators. Three fittings later — all in the last week! — and the result was a stunning pale blue silk chiffon gown that Bertinelli rocked during her New Years Day nuptials to longtime boyfriend Tom Vitale. With a nod to 1940s old Hollywood glamour with a plunging neckline and draped sleeves, the gown also offered a front leg slit for a dose of “modern sexy” while the color was simply one of Bertinelli’s favorites. Best of all? “It accentuates all of her best parts,” says Christopher Lane, Bertinelli’s longtime trainer. “That’s the way you want look when you’re in a wedding dress — you feel sexy, curvy and comfortable in your own skin. Valerie loves her curves and embraces that. She’s got a tiny waist, incredible legs, she’s got some hips and a beautiful bust. The dress shows off her tiny waist and also shows all her curves in the right way. And it’s a great color!” For all the wedding details and the exclusive wedding album, pick up this week’s issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. –Elizabeth Leonard

Heather Morris’s Wash-and-Go Beauty Routine

Heather Morris' Wash and Go Beauty Routine
Patrick Demarchelier for Teen Vogue

Heather Morris so convincingly plays ditzy Brittany on Glee, it’s hard to imagine that in real life she is an accomplished dancer who enjoys volunteering and knitting. Yes, knitting. Turns out the choreographer-cum-star is a serious multi-tasker: “I hate having downtime!” she admits in the February issue of Teen Vogue. And though she portrays an über self-conscious teenager on the hit show, in real life, Morris’s beauty routine is far more relaxed than that of your average Cheerio. How does she keep her flaxen do shiny? “I just wash it, end of story,” she reveals in the behind-the-scenes video below. Favorite products? The Flirt! brand ambassador is particularly loyal to the cosmetic line’s mascara. “I don’t need false lashes when I wear it,” she says. Another must have: ungoopy lip color. “Like most dancers, I love lip stains! We hate gloss because hair gets stuck in it.” To hear more about Heather’s laid-back philosophy on keeping her body and mind healthy (hint: exercise is paramount), check out the video below. And for more beauty–and success!–secrets from the Gleek herself, visit teenvogue.com or pick up the February issue, on newsstands today. –Justine Harman
