Jennifer Lopez on Her ‘Idol’ Wardrobe: “Just Going to Be Me”

Now that Jennifer Lopez has finally made her debut on American Idol, it’s time to start seeing her inevitable parade of fabulous frocks. And it doesn’t sound like sitting behind a judging table alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler for most of the show will mean that her wardrobe is going to be anything less than stunning. “You’re going to see everything,” Lopez said of her American Idol look at the TCA Press tour last week, InStyle.com reports. “I can only be myself on the show. I’m not going to try and play it down or play it up or do anything. I’m just going to be me, that’s always worked for me with the public. They see me, they know that I’m real.” And that means sticking to a glamorous look that doesn’t take a whole lot of time.  “I don’t want to over-think it too much,” she said. “I’m a girl who likes to get dressed up, put on her jewelry or her lipstick and go. Is this American Idol or the Jennifer Lopez show? Who cares what she’s wearing? Shouldn’t the viewers be tuning in to see the contestants and paying attention to THEM? No one ever commented about what Paula or Simon were wearing, so why should we suddenly care about the Judge’s wardrobe because it’s Jennifer Lopez?

we should care because it’s jennifer lopez. she’s not just anybody. she’s jennifer lopez. so me, i will be watching the show not only because of the contestants but also because of jennifer lopez. you watch it because of whatever reason but i’ll watch it because of that.
