Kate Middleton Picks Her Wedding Dress Designer, But Keeps Name Secret

So I guess this means, that she doesn’t go to bridal shop after bridal shop, trying on gowns, like the rest of the normal world does? I’m wondering if she even gets to chose the style of dress she wants, or if someone does that for her?

She would be drop dead gorgeous in a paper bag.

scarlett – I would like to help set the record straight for you. The Prince does not make millions from the taxpayer. He is paid a salary for being a search and rescue pilot. Kate works for her family business. They have a right to privacy.

The Queen and other working Royals DO NOT MAKE A SALARY. Yes, I know, I’m shouting but it seems people are so ignorant about the Royal family. The Queen is paid a sum of $20 million (a figure which has stayed the same for the past 20 years) to run the office of Head of State for the United Kingdom – much like the Obama’s are given money to run the White House. Out of this money she pays her staff, pays for expenses for all the working Royals and pays for the upkeep on Buck house and Windsor Castle – both of which belong to the State. These funds come to her from the crown lands which she handed over to the government when she became Queen and which give the government over $200 million pounds a year. She nor any member of the Royal family make a salary for their work. Her wealth comes from her privately owned estates and Dutchy’s. These, which she inherited from her father, offer an income for which she pays taxes – close to 3 million pounds last year.

She is not a slave. She isn’t owned by the people of the UK. You make it sound as if she and her family have no right to privacy at all, which is ridiculous.

The office of head of state costs each person in the UK .69pence a year or the equivalant of $1.06 cents. It costs $5.31 cents to run the office of the white house each year. If you divide it by the government portion and the head of state portion, that is still more than it costs the uk taxpayer.

I am the same age as her intended Mother in Law and remember Diana’s engagement, i can understand Williams need to have his wonderful mother remembered and included in the biggest decision of his young life but his Katie is being sucked into the ‘firm’ dressing her in the same colour blue influencing the ring she accepted was Kate able to say no … i dont think so…which young woman wants to wear a dead womans legacy rather than her own funky and beautiful style…theres more to come unfortunately

I am sure that Kate has Royal Advisors for the required protocol and all, but I am. also, sure that there will be ‘Touches of Kate’ throughout the ceremony. Beautiful comment, Laura! am just a bit flumoxed why americans are so obssessed here? lol! this is a country that has not much in common with america in the way they do things here.. why are you all trippin all oer yourselves what was the point of the american revolution when you are right back to square one worshipping royalty here? I people can give these two MUCH more privacy than Diana got. I really like these two from what we’ve heard. They seem like as normal a couple as they can be under the circumstances Prince William’s been dealt. Glad to know they don’t want servants and I’m sure they’ll be doing it (mostly) the way they wish.

This is nuts, Kate knows what she got into marrying Prince WIlliam, they won’t get privacy with a small or a big wedding. I don’t find anything interesting about Kate/she is humdrum plain who could not hold down a job. I am reading because Princess Diana and Prince William. I don’t say this as a mean comment but it’s true.. Hopefully she gets some curves back, she looked healthier when she was younger.

She is a normal young woman who wants her gown to be a surprise on her wedding day; everyone should just “chill” and let things progress as with any bride! Let these two young people have the joy and fun that is afforded to any couple planning the biggest day of their lives as yet. They just want to experience what the rest of us do with the planning and making memories. Good luck and God speed to them both. I do so hope that Diana is watching from heaven above! I am an American and I love the pagentry and hope their fairy tale day (and lives) give them years and years of love and memories.

Good luck to such a lovely couple. I agree it is romantic. Princess Diana got married the same day and year I did. I have always admired her and was totally devastated at the accident and the stories. She would be absolutely the most happiest mum and proud of both her children and the marriage of Prince William to Kate. She is beautiful. I just pray the press and cameramen will leave them alone to a degree they can live their lives without having to hide and run to get away from them. Good lord give them a break!

these young royals are soo practical. chances are they will choose a romantic and elegant outfits, especially in these hard economic times. common sense must have rubbed on prince william from his mom and whatever they wear it is their hearts and minds which will be watched all around the world, and cheers and prayers for a fruitful reunion, may they produce wonderful looking babies, they cannot help it as their genes are outstanding, in looks and character.
