Kate Middleton Picks a Dress Designer!
Tim Rooke/Rex USA

It looks like Kate Middleton has made her biggest decision since accepting Prince William‘s marriage proposal. The future princess has picked the designer who will make her wedding dress, a source tells PEOPLE. However, the identity of the couturier with the task of creating the gown that will be poured over by hundreds of millions of people around the world on April 29, remains a secret — as is the couple’s wish. But was there a clue amid the speculation? Bruce Oldfield‘s name re-entered the mix because Kate’s mom Carole and her sister Pippa were spotted heading to his store in the swanky Knightsbridge area of London. Photos published in the U.K.’s News of the World show mother and daughter strolling in the street and visiting Oldfield’s store after lunching at San Lorenzo restaurant. The paper said the shopping trip gave “a big hint he’s been picked to design the royal wedding dress.” But no one is confirming. Oldfield’s shop had no comment for PEOPLE, and the palace spokesman says, “It’s Miss Middleton’s intention to keep the dress a secret for her bridegroom on their wedding day, as is every bride’s prerogative.” Oldfield, a favorite of Princess Diana, has not commented on making a wedding gown for Middleton, but he said in a statement in December, “Kate has such a gorgeous figure that she would look stunning in anything.” – Simon Perry and Monique Jessen

So I guess this means, that she doesn’t go to bridal shop after bridal shop, trying on gowns, like the rest of the normal world does? I’m wondering if she even gets to chose the style of dress she wants, or if someone does that for her?

I’m sure she will look lovely.

She would be drop dead gorgeous in a paper bag.

For the love of god, please let her be and leave her alone. Let her choose her designer, her flowers, her house, her car. We don’t have to be notified about everything. People did we not learn from Princess Diana, they want to be left alone.

Jay – You could not have said it better. LIKE!

I agree with Jay. Leave her/them alone. We’ll all know what she will look like and wear on her wedding day. Don’t spoil it.

Off with the heads let them eat cake. LOL

Just something to talk about no one really cares. It’s not our lives it’s not our wedding. Good luck to them both with tha whole Palace telling them how to live. It didn’t work for Chuck and Diana.

“they want to be left alone”.

I ‘am sorry but it’s part of the royals job to be swarmed by the press, thats why they get paid millions isn’t it?

It is so exciting for the world to watch the wedding details unfold. There is something so romantic about Prince William marrying his Princess because this is what fairy tales are made of! I wish her and William all the best, and I CAN’T WAIT to see her wedding gown! Even though Diana isn’t here to see all of this, I’m sure she’s positively beaming from above. May William and Kate feel the warmth of her love with the sun and feel her kisses on their cheeks with a soft breeze! God Bless!
