Taylor Swift’s First CoverGirl Ad Revealed!

Taylor Swift's First CoverGirl Ads Revealed

Looks like Taylor Swift has something new to croon about. Though the news broke back in April that the singer would be the newest face of CoverGirl, fans have had to wait to see shots from the star’s ad campaign for the brand’s nature-inspired cosmetics line — until now. “I’m really excited for people to discover the new NatureLuxe line from CoverGirl!” Taylor said in a release. Not surprisingly, the fresh-faced country star proved herself to be as easy, breezy, beautiful as expected: surrounded by swathes of green fabric in a behind-the-scenes shot, Swift’s airy campaign shot reflects the feeling of the products, which were designed to deliver a polished but lightweight finish. “The Silk Foundation and Gloss Balm are really light and fresh, they feel amazing on my skin,” Swift raves of the makeup. Ready to sing its praises too? Fans can snag Taylor’s favorite products when they start rolling out in January. –Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester

24 Hour Trend Alert:Thigh-High Slits

Thighs the Limit
Henry Lamb/Photowire/BEImages; Luiz Martinez/Broadimage; Dave M. Benett/Getty

It seems that thigh’s the limit these days! In a span of 24 hours, at three very different fêtes, Carrie Underwood, Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham dared to bare in the same revealing silhouette. Playing by the rules in Sin City, the country singer flashed her sinewy gams in a scarlet red beaded Edition by Georges Chakra gown, Coomi earrings and a metallic clutch and heels by Rene Caovilla at Monday’s American Country Awards. That same night in N.Y.C., Angelina flashed some leg in a winter white Atelier Versace wrap dress that highlighted her limbs and ample décolletage. The following evening, across the pond, Designer Brand of the Year nominee, Beckham, left little to the imagination in a slitted kimono gown of her design at the British Fashion Awards. We say, if you’ve got it flaunt it, but we want to know what you think! Tell us: What’s your take on Hollywood’s latest hem-raising trend? Justine Harman

Shop Star-Designed Pieces on Edward Norton’s Charity Site

Kristen Bell Designs Charitable Necklace for Crowdrise.com

Tapping the minds and deep pockets of famous friends like Ashton Kutcher, Mandy Moore and James Franco, Edward Norton is getting in the holiday spirit this season through his charitable giving site, Crowdrise.com. “People like to do nice things for each other and have fun around the holidays, so we put this together in that spirit,” Norton said of the site’s new campaign, Crowdrise Holiday Fundraiser Thing (CHFT). Meant to “peer pressure” the world into fundraising, Crowdrise gives members the opportunity to join a team and a cause, like Paul Rudd’s for the American Cancer Society, to help raise money. And if supporting a specific charity with the help of your favorite star isn’t enough incentive, Norton has also added some stylish holiday shopping to the site from fashionista friends like Kristen Bell. The actress has teamed with Satya Jewelry to create the Acholi necklace, a 24-carat gold vermeil tree-of-life pendant and peridot gemstone, to benefit Invisible Children, an organization dedicated to ending the use of child soldiers in East Africa. And if you’ve already crossed off jewelry from your shopping list, Will Ferrell’s gift is sure to win you over: a bottle of suntan lotion with a nude shot of the actor on the front—for his Cancer for College campaign, of course! To join your own fundraising team, or visit crowdrise.com because everyone’s doing it! –Jessie Goldberg

Natalie Portman’s Stylist Reveals the Secret to Her Ultra-Glam ‘Black Swan’ Hair

The Secret to Natalie Portman's Ultra-Glam 'Black Swan' Hair
Amanda Schwab/Startraks; AAR/Fame

With dramatic red lips and cascading locks, Natalie Portman has gone all-out glam for the release of her new film, Black Swan. And now her hairstylist John. D., who created Portman’s elegant side chignon for her appearance at the Gotham Independent Film Awards last week, is revealing the secret to her stunning looks. Drawing inspiration from “classic Hollywood,” he told PEOPLE he wanted something “sophisticated, yet slightly undone,” designing a fresh, textured take on the style by first loosely curling her hair “to build some volume,” before tucking her low pony under at the nape of her neck. Days later for the movie’s N.Y.C. premiere, he transformed Portman’s shoulder-length mane into “full voluminous waves,” inspired by the sexy silhouette of her off-the-shoulder Dior gown. And if her statement-making Black Swan premiere looks are any indication, Portman’s style is definitely one to watch this awards season. Tell us: what do you think of Portman’s red carpet looks? –Jackie Fields
