Kim Kardashian Kicks Off Her Heels for Sneaker Deal with Skechers

Kim Kardashian Kicks Off Her Heels for Sneaker Deal with Skechers Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic

Kim Kardashian is taking off her heels and shaping up for a new sneaker deal. The 30-year-old reality star announced on Monday that she and mom Kris Jenner are teaming with Skechers to promote the brand’s Shape-ups fitness footwear. “When I was in New York, I wasn’t working out,” Kardashian told PEOPLE at an L.A. press conference. “I was feeling so depressed.” But all that apparently changed when she was sent her first pair of Shape-ups. “I honestly would wear them just all around the hotel. The fact that I would feel something without even having to set foot on a treadmill just made me feel better.” Now “hooked on” her new kicks, the style icon admits they’re also a great addition to her workout wardrobe. “I like neon,” she says. “My shoe selection even before Skechers had always been really unique, and I pretty much wore simple, basic outfits, so you want your shoes to be your statement piece.” Now “a little more toned” in her “legs, butt and stomach,” Kardashian is ready to take on Jenner in a Shape-ups challenge. “I’m probably gonna win because I have a little secret [Kim’s] not ready for,” Jenner said. Not breaking a sweat, Kardashian quickly quipped: “I don’t really brag. I think it’s a sign of weakness.” To shop the Kardashian’s new shoes of choice, visit skechers.com. –Melody Chiu

Which of Rihanna’s Three AMA Looks Do You Like Best?

Which of Rihanna's Three AMA Looks Do You Like Best?

Rihanna was all about the glitz and glam at Sunday night’s American Music Awards, where the superstar heated up the festivities with her live performance—and her three wardrobe changes! First, the songstress hit the red carpet in a deep maroon Elie Saab Haute Couture gown embellished with a floral design, before slipping into a red-hot “Good Girl Gone Bad” look to take to the stage for her opening performance. Donning a soft pink mini-dress to sing “Love the Way You Lie,” she then stripped down to a black-and-white strapless bra, complete with boa-like arm bands and a bright sash. Finally, to accept her award for best soul/R&B female artist, the edgy diva opted for another Elie Saab Haute Couture creation—this time, a green one-shouldered gown. The only style constant throughout the night? Her curly and noticeably shorter hair, which marked a stark contrast to last week’s super straight extensions. Top Bridal Designers Sketch Wedding Gowns for Kate Middleton

When it comes to Kate Middleton’s wedding gown plans, fashion insiders from Savile Row to Seventh Avenue are abuzz with predictions—and opinions. “Any designer would love to design for a royal wedding,” Elizabeth Emanuel, co-creator of Princess Diana’s 1981 gown, told UK newspaper the Daily Mail. Adds London designer Suzanne Neville: “I would hope that she keeps British.” Alas, it would seem that the weight of the fashion world rests on Kate’s slim, likely-to-be-lace-covered shoulders. And while names from the obvious (her favorite designer, Daniella Issa Helayel) to the more obscure (English designer Phillipa Lepley) have been tossed around, it’s still anybody’s guess who will design the gown of the century. But that hasn’t stopped designers from speculating—or sketching. “I think she will be covered, but in a modern way,” says American designer Monique Lhuillier, whose Kate-inspired gown includes organza flowers on the shoulders and a grand skirt. “When I think of the royal family, it is important to keep the style of the gown classic, regal, opulent—and subtle.”

Jean Paul Gaultier Retrospective to Tour U.S. in 2011

Jean Paul Gaultier Retrospective to Tour U.S.Richard Young/Startraks; John Roca/Rex Features

After three decades as the perpetual enfant terrible of French couture, Jean Paul Gaultier is finally getting some deserved respect–and his very own retrospective. The first ever museum exhibit dedicated to the man credited with popularizing Trash fashion, designing Madonna‘s iconic cone bra and putting men back into kilts, will open at the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal in June 2011 before making a pit stop in the U.S. ‘The Fashion World of Jean-Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk’ features more than 100 items, including ready-to-wear and haute couture pieces along with sketches and photographs celebrating the designer’s 35 years in fashion. The exhibition will then travel to Dallas (Nov. 13 – Feb. 12) and the San Francisco Fine Arts Museum (March 24 to August 19, 2012.) — and additional cities are under consideration. “He’s positively thrilled,” a spokesman for the designer told PEOPLE. –Peter Mikelbank
