Hang with the Stars: Celeb-Designed Holiday Ornaments

Landov; AP; Insets: Courtesy HSN

They’ve built fashion empires, launched fragrances and lent their likenesses to home lines. Now Sarah Jessica Parker, Mary J. Blige and Iman want to help you trim your tree. These are just a few of the A-list names who have put their star power behind holiday ornaments, available now for $19.90-$49.90, on hsn.com/hsncares. With 100 percent of the profits being donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (which serves children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses), stars were quick to embrace the spirit of giving. “Anything involving kids touches my heart,” says Molly Sims, whose ornament is a nod to her jewelry line. Tori Spelling, whose own childhood home famously featured a room devoted entirely to wrapping Christmas presents, opted for “a traditional print, which makes for a festive holiday!” Blige took a deeper approach, explaining “This holiday I wanted all of my fans to celebrate women. I chose the Phoenix [design] because she embodies grace, confidence and strength.” Now that you’ve got the makings of a VIP tree, you might want to consider putting a velvet rope around it. –Suzanne Zuckerman

Lake Bell Brings Back Blunt Bangs with New Do

Giulio Marcocchi/Sipa

When fashion-forward actress Lake Bell decided to change up her look, she was searching for a style that was truly timeless. So the brunette beauty traded in her sleek straight locks in favor of the trendy, yet always classic blunt bang, which she debuted on Tuesday at the Decades Denim launch party in Beverly Hills. “It’s really fun. It’s good to, you know, look in the mirror and try to be different people,” the It’s Complicated actress told PEOPLE. “What’s interesting about it is that you can be any decade. You can make it look ’80s, ’90s, ’70s–it’s very versatile.” As for the change, Bell said, “I did it a couple of days ago. I was just kind of like, ‘I am going to do this because I can.’ There was no good reason.” And with her revamped hairstyle, Bell was also looking to update her denim wardrobe. Clad in Decades Denim charcoal skinny jeans, Bell had nothing but praise for the new brand. “They’re a sleek, clean design, very chic, very wearable and not too tight,” said Bell. “There’s not a lot of stuff and when jeans start having a lot of pockets and special things then it becomes something else and the jeans start upstaging you.” Not that the chic star is prone to trends. “Even though it’s fun to kind of get obsessed with the trend I try hard to be respectful of the trend from afar,” said Bell. “Certainly bangs are kind of in, so I was like, ‘all right, I accept that,’ but I also wanted them.” –Michelle Ward

Jennie Garth’s Daughter Inspires Her to Chop Off Her Hair

Albert Michael/Startraks

Jennie Garth’s husband, Twilight‘s Peter Facinelli, may be her family’s resident vampire, but he’s not the only one in the clan inspiring the mom-of-three to show off her wild side. Jennie surprised fans when she debuted a slightly longer version of her new cropped pixie look at her husband’s Eclipse premiere back in June–and she’s just kept cropping from there. “Jennie is always edgy and likes to try news things, especially with her hair,” her hairstylist Michael Anton explained to PEOPLE at the Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories event on Oct. 27. “I love that she’s adventurous and isn’t afraid to try new things! When the Eclipse premiere came up, it was the perfect time to showcase a new look for her.” After taking inspiration from both her daughter Fiona and singer Rihanna, Jennie had Michael cut her long locks into an asymmetric look, which evolved into her current perfect pixie. “She does love the cut,” he says, because it works well with her busy lifestyle.” –Jessie Goldberg

Justin Bieber Creating a Perfume to Make ‘the Girls Go Crazy’

Jason Merritt/Getty

Justin Bieber is getting in touch with his feminine side. The pop star, 16, is working on his own fragrance line —just for the ladies. “It’s for my female fans, and I want to create something that will have the girls go crazy,” Bieber tells PEOPLE exclusively of the currently unnamed scent, which launches in high-end department stores next summer. “Most male celebrities do male colognes for other males,” Bieber adds. “I think that me making a female fragrance is just a different idea and I think it’s going to be successful. I’m just really, really excited about it. It’s going to be really big.” The Biebs, who also recently announced a unisex line of scented accessories, says Britney Spears‘ fragrances are currently his favorite perfumes on the market, but is less forthcoming when it comes to discussing his preference on colognes. “I can’t tell you what I wear,” he says with a laugh. “It’s got to be mysterious.” Bieber, who teamed on the scent with Give Back Brands, a lifestyle products company committed to donating its proceeds to charity, isn’t getting a helping hand from any of his celebrity pals. “This is my project and I want to be hands on,” he says. And it may go without saying, but Bieber says if he could have any woman wear his line, it would be Beyoncé. For more information on Justin’s scent, visit gbbrands.com. –Dahvi Shira

Iman Points to Victoria Beckham as ‘One of the Best Designers’

Humberto Carreno/Startraks

“It’s better than I thought it would ever be,” Iman told PEOPLE about joining the cast of the TV series, The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection at WWD‘s milestone 100th Anniversary Party at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York on Tuesday night. The Somalian-born model explained, “It’s really actually about a fashion show. Not individual designers.” But Iman has already singled out one designer as a personal favorite, modeling a custom silk taffeta Victoria Beckham dress to the bash. “I love it,” the 55-year-old said to PEOPLE of the one-of-a-kind frock that Victoria whipped up for her friend. “I think she’s one of the best designers.” The ageless supermodel continued her Posh praise, enthusing “She’s no longer an emerging designer, she’s become a real designer.” One fashion icon who doesn’t have any input regarding Iman’s sartorial choices is her husband of 18 years, David Bowie. The 63-year-old British rocker hasn’t given or received fashion advice from his confident wife. “No neither, he’s very fashionable and so am I.” –Mary S. Park

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to Add Shoes and Bags to The Row

Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen may have joined a slew of other celebrity designers crowding the fashion space, but unlike a lot of their A-list peers, the stylish sisters have managed to build three successful brands and a loyal following based more on the clothes they create, than their famous faces. So much so that the designing duo tells WWD that come next fall, they’ll expand their luxury line, The Row, to include handbags and eventually shoes. The new ranges will complete the existing assortment of chic dresses, outerwear, menswear, knits and sunglasses. “It would be a proper American luxury brand, made in America, with retail business and maybe collaborations with other brands,” Ashley says of The Row, which she tells WWD was inspired by fans who copied her and her sister’s signature look of over-sized sweaters, sunglasses and bags. And while their three lines, including Elizabeth and James and Olsenboye at J.C. Penney, have transformed the twins from trendsetters to savvy businesswomen, the duo says they were merely trying to fill a void in many closets when designing. “I was a shopper. I felt that basic luxury was missing,” Ashley explains to WWD, while her sister adds, “I wasn’t as big a shopper. But I was horseback riding since I was six years old, so it was all about fit for me.” –Jessie Goldberg
