Would You Wear a Suit and Tie Like Leighton Meester?

Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester continues to don get-ups that would leave Blair Waldorf bristling in her Brian Atwoods. Two weeks after donning a plunging, sheer Marchesa jumpsuit, the fearless stylista takes a page out of AnnaLynne McCord’s book, sporting a charcoal Thom Browne suit complete with flood trousers, white oxford shirt and matching neck tie to the Gotham Independent Film Awards in N.Y.C. on Monday night. Eschewing feminine details, Meester opted for simple on-trend wine-hued pumps, smoky lids and mussed up tresses to complete her look. Though the androgynous look may be a bold introduction to Browne’s foray into women’s clothes, we’re not sure how we feel about Leighton’s literal take on menswear. Rihanna Trades Style Tips With Kanye West

Rihanna Trades Style Tips with Kanye WestMikael Jansson/Courtesy Interview

She’s known the world over for her chameleon-like style and in the latest issue of Interview magazine, Rihanna delves into her fashion evolution in a one-on-one chat with an artist known for his own eclectic sartorial taste: Kanye West. “Well, I would say that in the beginning of my career, I didn’t have a lot of input in what I wore and stuff, but it was a very, innocent, girly look,” she tells the rapper. “Then after we put out [third album] Good Girl Gone Bad, it kind of became a darker, edgier look, and then it got even edgier on the last album [Rated R].” The December cover girl always pushes the envelope with her daring style, confessing she’s “over the whole structured clothing, overly shoulder-padded” look and admitting she prefers “stuff that’s easy without trying too hard” rather than “stuff that’s too contrived.” What looks can fans expect next from the Grammy winner? “I probably see a lot of menswear, or something extremely, extremely feminine. But I like to play with both,” she tells Interview. “I always like something that’s a little off, so it’s just not typical or expected.” We can be sure “typical” is one thing this songstress definitely is not! With 25 films and an Oscar under her belt, not to mention two adorable children, Reese Witherspoon is proving that things only get better with age. Decked out in a Burberry Prorsum dress, Neil Lane bracelet and Shery Shabani for Fragments necklace on the January cover of Glamour, the actress, 34, says she has never felt better. “I think as a woman, you get older, you feel more confident in your sexuality. You’re not as intimidated by it, not as embarrassed by it,” she tells the magazine. “I am calmer; I know who I am. And as a result, I feel much sexier.” And while her stunning spread, where Reese dons everything from a chic L’Wren Scott jacket and on-trend Current/Eliot Jeans to a Giles dress and Christian Louboutin heels, is proof enough that age is just a number, the actress also reveals that she isn’t threatened by younger starlets. “There’s always going to be somebody younger or sexier. That’s why I like to say, and it’s become my famous line, ‘Funny doesn’t sag.’” To hear more from Reese on kids, romantic comedies and women in Hollywood, visit Glamour.com or pick on the January issue on newsstands Dec. 7. –Jessie Goldberg

Did Justin Bieber Crop His Hair?

Did Justin Bieber Crop His Hair?
Rob Kim/Retna

Did he cut it or didn’t he? It’s a question that Justin Bieber fans have been debating the past few months, as the singer’s signature mop-top hairstyle has crept ever shorter, knocking off a millimeter here and a millimeter there. But when Justin turned out in N.Y.C. this weekend for the launch of his memoir First Step 2 Forever: My Story, it seemed that all those micro-trims had taken his coif over the tipping point–giving his overall look a shorter, neater appearance. And while we’re intrigued by how the choppier styling carries him from ‘tween to teen dream, we can’t help but wonder whether he still has the goods to pull off his famous hair swoosh. Tell us: Do you think Justin should keep cropping his hair, or stay true to his signature shag?

Alexa Chung: ‘All of My Beauty Icons are Men’

Alexa Chung On Her Hair: 'I Want to Look Like Kurt Cobain'
Brian Zak/Sipa

From the U.K. to the U.S., fashionistas everywhere seem to be clamoring for British cool girl Alexa Chung’s seemingly ‘thrown together’ style, and now it looks like we can finally steal her shopping strategy. Scheduled to air next summer, Alexa will star on Thrift America, a new PBS series that will follow the model and former host of MTV’s now canceled show, It’s On With Alexa Chung, as she rummages through garage sales and flea markets across the country to score unique fashion finds and share her style secrets, which are not what you might expect. “All of my beauty icons are men. It’s all about effortlessness. It’s all about looking underdone,” she told the Sunday New York Times of her urban chic uniform, which often consists of shorts and boots topped with a T-shirt and sweater. But despite being “underdone,” she admits that there is a method to her unrehearsed look–even her shaggy bob. “I want to look like Kurt Cobain,” Alexa told the Times. “I said, ‘I’m going to America and they’re going to try and make my hair shiny and I don’t want it.’” But despite the fact that everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to fashion bloggers applaud her style, Mulberry even named a series of bags after her, the Madewell designer insists that she isn’t going for the cool factor. “I quite like the slightly dorky aspect of English dressing.” –Jessie Goldberg
