UPDATE: Katy Perry Rocks Faux Indian Bridal Nose Ring

INF

No one would ever suspect Katy Perry — she of the Oompa Loompah nails, multi-color hair streaks and circus-themed dresses — of being a classic bride, but the soon-to-be Mrs. Russell Brand is turning expectations upside down, and already gave a nod to Indian bridal tradition as she landed in Jaipur on Wednesday for the big day. The California Girl arrived at the airport wearing A-Morir “Darcy” sunglasses, which give the illusion of the nose ring that Indian brides traditionally wear throughout their wedding day until the groom removes it that night. While Katy and Russell have proved to be anything but a reserved duo in the past, even hinting at a clothing optional wedding, could this be their hint at incorporating traditions into their big day? Only time will tell…–Jessie Goldberg

Willow Smith’s Over-the-Top Hairstyles from ‘Whip My Hair’ Explained!

Courtesy Roc Nation

Willow Smith is attracting as much attention for her over-the-top style as for her catchy pop hook for “Whip My Hair” — but are either as buzz-worthy as her amazing hairstyles in the video? We went straight to the source, hairstylist Marcia Hamilton, who called creating the looks for the video “an absolute blast. These looks were a collaborative effort between Willow, Jada, Fawn Boardley and myself.” One of the video’s show-stoppers is Willow’s heart-shaped fauxhawk, which was challenging to create as one might think! “Creating the ‘Heart Hawk’ was a bit of a challenge, but after tons of individual braids and many sticks of glue, I did it,” Marcia explains. And as for the pink-topped style for one of the video’s killer dance sequences, Marcia tells PEOPLE, “‘Cotton Candy Dream’ was fantastic. These were done also with pieces that I hand colored. We loved the idea of a soft frothy pallet for this structured silhouette. I graduated the tones from rich and intense at the roots to soft pastels at the ends.” So was all the hard work worth it? Absolutely, according to Marcia, who gushes, “I really enjoyed every step of the creative process and was thrilled to see it all come to life on Willow!” Tell us: What’s your favorite look from “Whip My Hair”? –Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

Despite a little thunder and rain, L.A.’s fashion elite turned out in full force Tuesday afternoon to toast the year’s hottest new design talent at the Frederic Fekkai-hosted CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund finalists runway show, where designers like Christian Cota, Pamela Love, Prabal Gurung, Joseph Altuzarra and more showcased their latest creations at the Chateau Marmont. And plenty of Hollywood A-listers were on hand to gush about the drool-worthy designs. From a Christian Cota-clad Eva Mendes to actress Mena Suvari, who was clearly enamored by many of the collections, telling PEOPLE, “I loved a lot of the Pamela Love, Billy Reid, Christian Cota, and Eddie Borgo.” A streamlined and chic Nicole Richie was also present in a pleated Missoni maxi dress, who, in between gab sessions and baby talk with stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe, took in the collections and indulged in an outdoor champagne party. And while the topic of discussion rarely derailed from fashion, one stylish attendee found a way to self promote. “I’m doing my own jewelry line, so I was so inspired by Pamela Love,” admitted an enterprising Molly Sims, who was perched in the front row. – Justine Harman; reporting by Vanessa Diaz

John Shearer/WireImage

A little more than two months ago, Nicole Richie took to her Twitter to debut a blonde bombshell bob–and now she’s continuing to shorten up by cropping her hair even more. Mario Testino for Vogue

Despite being a veteran of wearing couture confections on global red carpets, it turns out that Anne Hathaway still had one major style moment left to experience. “I’ve never seen a Kelly bag or a Birkin bag in person,” the actress told Vogue, “and at my age, it’s about time.” Hathaway popped into the Hermès store in Paris, while shooting her glamorous November cover with celeb-favorite photographer Mario Testino. But while the actress loves brands ranging from 3.1 Phillip Lim and Rag & Bone to Céline and Isabel Marant, she’s not an Hermès girl—yet. “As gorgeous as the Kelly is, I think it’s something that you mature into.” For more of Anne’s interview with Vogue, visit vogue.com or pick up your own issue, on newsstands Oct. 26. –Hana Choi
