Jessica Alba Sees Her Post-Baby Body as ‘Saggy’

Courtesy GQ

She’s regularly fêted as one of the world’s most beautiful actresses—but mother-of-one Jessica Alba still sees the flaws in her body. And she’s happy with it. Two years after giving birth to daughter Honor, the Machete star tells the U.K. edition of GQ that there is something “amazing” about having a child. “My breasts are saggy, I’ve got cellulite, my hips are bigger, but I love it,” she proudly says in the November issue. And the 29-year-old feels inferior to many of her fellow female stars in the beauty stakes. She name-checks other leading ladies like Natalie Portman, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Garner and Beyoncé. “Every actress out there is more beautiful than me,” she tells the magazine. “All better looking than me. I’ve seen them without makeup, so I know.” The cover article comes complete with a swimsuit shoot that plays up her slender legs, and she says that having Honor has helped her confidence. She is “way more comfortable since I had a baby. I’m far less self-conscious now that I have her to worry about.” But the actress says she wasn’t always so happy to show off her body. “I used to have anxiety attacks before I did the photo shoots. I’d never worn high heels to even dresses before I did movies,” she says. And she vows not to succumb to that other product of the entertainment industry—cosmetic surgery. “I hate the idea of trying to freeze time. I believe in growing old as nature intended and, if the movie roles dry up as a result, then so be it.” — Simon Perry

VIDEO: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on Their Savile Row Style Inspiration

When Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were forced to cancel their spring/summer 2011 show in New York due to last minute sample delays, they simply said ‘c’est la vie’ and presented in the chic French capital of Paris instead. The famously private duo summed up their collection to U.K.’s Elle this weekend: “We wanted to concentrate on tailored pieces,” they said at Sunday’s appointment-only presentation on the fashionable Left Bank. “The Row is named after Savile Row and refined minimal luxury is what this is all about. Like the trousers suit,” they explained, referring to their exquisitely tailored, but feminine pant suits presented in white and blush pink, paired with silk separates. Before the show, the two sisters discussed the ethos of their brand, which they launched in 2007, and the foundations behind it. “I think we became perfectionists at such a young age, so for us the fit is so important,” explains Ashley in a sneak peek video in association with Microsoft’s Bing. Inspired by their own tastes and what silhouettes they want to create is the starting point of any collection but the style-savvy sisters know the importance of staying true to their customer. So who is this woman? “An educated woman, a woman that understands fit and what they like and what’s easy to wear,” says Ashley. –Monique Jessen

Crystal Renn’s Tour De France: Walking in Three Major Paris Fashion Week Shows

Crystal Renn’s rise to the top of the fashion industry isn’t slowing down. First, the plus size model, who documented her years suffering from anorexia in order to work in the fashion industry in a memoir Hungry in 2009, broke down barriers in New York City, walking in Zac Posen’s ZSpoke show last month. Now, she’s burning up Paris, walking in Zac Posen’s ready to wear show, as well as walking the runway for major labels Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel. “This has been one of the most amazing times of my life,” Renn, 24, tells PEOPLE on the phone from Paris. “I’ve done one show before, usually as a special guest, but to be working this much is incredible.” For Renn, who walked in Jean Paul Gaultier’s 2006 fashion show at a size 12, being treated as one of the pack, not as “the plus size model,” is “a real breakthrough,” she says. “I’m here being treated like any other girl. It doesn’t matter my size. It doesn’t matter who I am. I’m going on castings like everybody else.” Though Renn is now a slimmer size 10, she says she’s still “different from most of the girls at the castings,” but acknowledges that there is more diversity on the runway these days. “When I first started, the girls were all blonde, all emaciated and miserable looking,” she says. “Now, there’s more ethnic diversity. The girls are not as skinny as before. You do see size 6s and a couple size 8s. There is change happening in the industry. There is more allowance for people to be different. I’m so impressed. I can’t wait for next season.” – Charlotte Triggs

Amy Winehouse Unveils Her Fred Perry Designs

Flynet

As she prepares to show off her new range of clothing designed for British sportswear firm Fred Perry, Amy Winehouse says she’s been drug-free for three years and is in a better place. “I’m much healthier now,” she tells the U.K. edition of Glamour in its November issue. “I used to use drugs and I haven’t used drugs in almost three years. I literally woke up one day and was like, ‘I don’t want to do this any more.’” While her private life around her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil was in such turmoil, she says she focused on her fashion line. “I went through a lot of trouble with my ex-husband, so I had such a long time to think about the collection.” The divorced singer has drawn on her own tastes to design the chic line—and she models it for singer-turned-photographer Bryan Adams in the magazine. “I like ’40s and ’50s stuff. I played Rizzo in Grease when I was a kid at school, and I’ve always worn bowling shirts and things like classic trenchcoats.” The collection starts at a size six (U.K.) because she wanted to be able to wear them. “When I started eating right, I lost quite a lot of weight,” she explains. “Everyone thinks it was because of my lifestyle. It was because my eating habits got a lot better and I came to my natural weight. I’m not really skinny but I’m tiny and I couldn’t really get anything because they didn’t do a size six.” –Simon Perry

Keira Knightley Debuts a Brand New Bob: Love It or Hate It?

Dominique Charriau/WireImage

It looks like Keira Knightley is taking Parisian chic to a whole new level, stepping out at the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week this morning with a sleek new bob. The British actress is no stranger to switching up her style, having rocked everything from a pixie crop to tumbling shoulder-length locks, but this new sideswept bob is shorter than we’ve seen the star go in quite some time. And while she recently proved to be Chic for Chanel on the biker-babe set of her Coco Mademoiselle fragrance campaign, this morning, she took her Parisian look one step further for the designer, complementing her plumped and pouty lips with her new perfectly layered locks. Though we’re confident that Keira can pull off any look, we think this new style frames her petite face quite perfectly. Tell us: What do you think of Keira Knightley’s new bob?

Selena Gomez Shows Off LOFT’s Chic and Charitable Jewelry Collaborations

Ian West/PA Photos/Abaca

With a burgeoning music and movie career, not to mention a wildly-popular clothing line under her belt,  Selena Gomez has been one busy girl—but not too busy to devote her time to a charitable cause. Along with songstress Katharine McPhee, the Disney starlet has joined LOFT in the fight against breast cancer by wearing a ring-style necklace ($34.50) designed by Anna Sheffield who, along with other notable jewelry designers, created a limited-edition collection for the retailer. “The heirloom-inspired ring worn on layered chains is a design that symbolizes commitment,” said the designer. “This piece represents our commitment to breast cancer awareness.” Other coveted designers, like Me&Ro and Kara Ross, have joined LOFT’s efforts to “think pink” for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a chic gold antique-looking charm bracelet ($34.50) from Me&Ro reportedly catching the eye of Emmy Rossum. Meanwhile Entourage beauty Emmanuelle Chriqui has been busy accessorizing with Kara Ross’s geometric, mosaic-like chain bracelet ($39.50). Available today in LOFT stores and at LOFTonline.com, $5 from each piece of jewelry sold will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to funding initiative clinical and translational research worldwide. –Jessie Goldberg
