Rachel Weisz Joins L’Oréal as the Brand’s Newest Face

Alexandra Wyman/Gett

Hot on the heels of Julianna Margulies’s appointment as a face of L’Oréal Paris, the cosmetic giant has now announced British beauty Rachel Weisz as the latest Hollywood star to ink a global deal–but in a disappointing turn for American fans, won’t include the U.S. “I am honored to be the new ambassador of L’Oréal Paris, which values both beauty and diversity,” the 40-year-old actress says in WWD of fronting the brand’s skincare and makeup products. Weisz joins L’Oréal’s A-list stable of spokespeople including Diane Kruger, Andie MacDowell and Beyoncé. And while many of us will need to join the jet-set to see Rachel’s print and television spots, others around the world can mark their calendars to keep an eye out for her skincare campaigns when they start rolling out in November. The award-winning actress will front makeup ads for the beauty firm beginning next spring. Tell us: What do you think of Weisz as the newest face of L’Oréal?

Onscreen, she may play Gossip Girl‘s newest conniving cast member, but offscreen, Katie Cassidy has a much softer soul. As the spokesperson for the charity H.E.L.P. (Hope, Educate, Love, Protect), the 23-year-old actress has lent a hand in the design of the What Love Means necklace. And to show her true support and admiration for the cause, Katie, who proved to be quite the fashionista during New York Fashion Week, accessorized her outfit with the vintage-looking pendant at the Cinema Society’s screening of Red in New York on Oct. 3. The perfect everyday add-on to glam up any ensemble while supporting H.E.L.P., a non-profit organization in Malawi that strives to improve the well-being of children in poverty, the What Love Means necklace is a fall must-have! All About Odette Yustman’s Wedding Bling!

For Odette Yustman, less was more when it came to picking out jewelry for her October 10th Ojai, Calif., nuptials to Brothers and Sisters star Dave Annable. “We didn’t want to do a lot of jewelry because she is already so elegant and pretty,” celebrity jeweler Neil Lane tells PEOPLE. “Just some sparkle by her ears and in her hair so she’d have a magical look as she walked down the aisle.” In the end, Yustman donned 10 carats of Neil Lane diamond pear-shaped drop earrings and 30-carat diamond and platinum barrettes, valued at over $300,000. “She is such a beautiful, fun girl and she was so excited for her wedding,” says Lane. “To celebrate who Odette is, we wanted the look to be elegant and glamorous, befitting young Hollywood, without being over the top.” Did the You Again star pull it off? Absolutely, says one wedding guest, “She was an incredibly gorgeous bride!” - Elizabeth Leonard

Sara Rue Achieves New Goal: Finishes San Luis Obispo Half Marathon!

Courtesy Jenny Craig

In the past year, actress Sara Rue has learned a lot about setting goals and working hard to achieve them. The Jenny Craig spokesperson, who lost 50 pounds on the weight loss program, accomplished her latest goal by running her first half marathon on Sunday—and completing it in a remarkable two hours and 27 minutes. “I feel so happy! It’s awesome!” Rue told PEOPLE at the finish line. “Now I understand what people have been saying about having a runner’s high. I’m in the best shape of my life. Less than seven, eight months ago I couldn’t even run a mile. This has been really empowering.” Rue, 32, ran the City to Sea half marathon, which started in downtown San Luis Obispo, Calif. and ended in Shell Beach, Calif., with her personal trainer, Christopher Lane. “When the race started we were being passed by hundreds of people,” Rue said. “I was a little discouraged and I tried to joke with Christopher by saying ‘hey, I don’t think we’re going to win this thing!’” But she didn’t let herself get psyched out and instead, focused on keeping the 12-minute mile pace she trained for during the summer. “Once we settled into our pace, I just started enjoying the run,” said Rue. Following her every step of the way was fiancé Kevin Price, who filmed Rue along the route, and even ran alongside her “for about two-tenths of a mile,” she said, laughing. After the race, Rue celebrated by going out the lunch (she had a healthy grilled chicken salad!) with Price and friends. “I wore my medal to lunch,” she said. “I had to. I didn’t think I’d enjoy [the run] as much as I did. It was empowering and fun – fun!” –Monica Rizzo

Anthea Simms/Retna, Humberto Carreno/Startraks

Meanwhile, hopping on the same style stateside last week was Kourtney Kardashian, who rocked the look while hitting the Manhattan streets with sister Kim. And while some critics are coming down on the reality star for stepping out under cover, Kourtney took to her Twitter account yesterday to defend her trendy turban. “Everyones hating my turban look…just having a little fashion fun in new york! It’s not that serious,” she wrote. And while both brunettes pulled off the look quite flawlessly, we can’t decide who wore the trend better.
