Sometimes a girl just needs a change. This was the case for actress Amy Smart, when she decided to chop off her tumbling locks in favor of a shorter shoulder-grazing style. “I cut it off for fun…just for a change,” she told PEOPLE at Arcade Boutique’s Autumn Party for the Children’s Institute at The London West Hollywood hotel last week. “I just wanted something new and fresh and different, you know. People need changes sometimes and you just sometimes want to cut your hair off!” Known for her classic girl-next-door image, the Scrubs actress chose to show her more sultry side with a sexy, tousled look that she donned for the evening. Styled that night by celebrity hair guru, Neil Weisberg of the Neil George Salon, Smart accepted compliments on her new look throughout the night and revealed that she is happy with her new hair cut. “It’s a good change, ” she said before adding, “It grows back.” Tell us: What do you think of Amy’s new do? –Michelle Ward

If you paid attention, this is in the “STYLE WATCH” section..not actual “BREAKING NEWS”. She was in a few low budget movies (Crank,Road Trip). It’s not the greatest cut, but looks ok. Keira Knightly had a better new do.

I have liked Amy ever since she played Noel’s g/f on Felicity. She’s so refreshing, and she is a good actress, which is more than I can say for some other starlets out there who get so much more attention.
I think this particular picture does not do the hairdo much justice, but Amy can pull off any cut.

I think her hair looks great in this pic. But I don’t know what it looked like before. Should have included a pic of her with her original doo.

Hasn’t her hair ALWAYS been this length? I dont remember ever seeing her with “tumbling” hair.
