Giorgio Armani may be as well known for his beautifully cut suits and neutral palette as Lady Gaga is for her over-the-top theatrics and shock-value wardrobe — but tonight for the Grammy Awards, they have brought together their differing aesthetics to create sweet harmony. Lady Gaga will be dressed exclusively in Giorgio Armani Privé, all special pieces designed just for the singer’s red carpet walk and her live performance during the award ceremony. Giorgio Armani says in a release, “We hear Lady Gaga’s music everywhere we go. It is like a soundtrack of our times. In addition to her formidable songwriting skills, she is a modern fashion phenomenon. I am delighted to be creating these outfits on such an important night for her, the Grammys, and I wish her the best of luck.” And of course, Lady Gaga enthusiastically returns the compliment, saying “I am honored to be wearing Armani this evening. The series of pieces Mr. Armani created for me are truly iconic; they represent not only beautiful fashion, but my spirit and essence as an artist. Mr. Armani is a fashion legend, and tonight would not have been the same without his touch, and his wonderful team.” Her red carpet look stayed true to Lady Gaga’s always fascinating style, while bringing in some of the elements from the recent celestial-inspired Armani Privé show in Paris, and we can’t wait to see what else she and Armani have in store for us this evening. Tell us: What do you think of Lady Gaga’s Armani Privé wardrobe for the night?

Following the heated debate over Christina Hendricks’ choice of a champagne ruffled gown by Project Runway alum Christian Siriano at the Golden Globes, the Mad Men star’s husband, Geoffrey Arend, is fighting back. At a SAG awards after party, Arend stopped to defend his wife to PEOPLE. “I was just upset about the whole Golden Globes dress thing. I thought she looked so gorgeous. And that New York Times blogger saying that… It’s so ridiculous,” he said, referring to the paper’s fashion critic, Cathy Horyn offering the critique “You don’t put a big girl in a big dress. That’s rule number one”. Arend contines, “What was nice was seeing the entire internet come after that blogger. That was really cool. It was the first time I saw just a solid block of ‘You’re crazy! What’s wrong with you? You should be ashamed of yourself!’ [in the comments.] And honestly, the Grey Lady should be ashamed of themselves to print a picture like that, that they widened!” In an update to her column, Horyn acknowledged that the original photo used in her post was accidentally distorted: “The photo was slightly distorted inadvertently due to an error during routine processing. The photograph has been replaced,” she wrote. For her part, Hendricks is standing by her Siriano gown: “I loved it! I thought I looked gorgeous!” she told PEOPLE. We agree—as does her proud husband, who gushes, “Honestly, she’s the greatest woman I know. She’s the most beautiful woman I know. She’s the most talented woman I know. It’s like there’s not enough adjectives that could express or superlatives that could express how wonderful she is.” –reporting by Jessica Wedemeyer

As one of Hollywood’s more recognizable blondes, Heroes star Hayden Panettiere gave new meaning to “red carpet reveal” when she turned up at the Temple Grandin premiere in New York this week with newly auburn hair. As much as we love the new look, such a drastic color change is always a bold move–especially in Hollywood. So our big question for her was, why red now? “Because I could, because I was done with the season,” she explained to PEOPLE. “I was like, ‘I need to change, I need to get myself out of this slot. I don’t feel like a blonde right now!'” In true superstar fashion, the actress didn’t stop with her hair, and had her stylist touch up her brows as well. “I hope they match,” she said, continuing, “Eyebrows very much frame the face.” Despite the color change, Hayden tells us that she isn’t through with the change-ups. “I was going to go dark,” she said of her original hair color plan. “And then I decided to go red first — and then dark.” We can’t wait to see what’s next! Isaac Mizrahi on Michelle Obama Wearing His Design: "Exquisitely Beautiful"

Jan/28/2010 at 05:44 PM ET

Designer Isaac Mizrahi stepped in front of the camera to document his glee upon seeing the First Lady Michelle Obama turn up in a silk long sleeved dress of his design at last night’s State of the Union address, posting a video blog today on his website, “Let’s see, what should I blog about today?” he teased. “I got it! Why don’t I talk about how exquisitely beautiful Michelle Obama looked last night at the State of the Union address?” The Manhattan-based clothier also proclaimed the First Lady’s new, sleek bob “divine” and went on to note the political significance of Mrs. Obama’s plum-hued shift: “It was like the politics of the clothes. Not left, not right, it was kind of like a bipartisan dress. George Stephanopoulos said how interesting it was that she was in a kind of purple-y color which is a blend of red and blue.” Mizrahi can hardly rein in his excitement, revealing, “I go swimming every morning and I managed to casually bring up the State of the Union address about seventeen times, and Mrs. Obama about eighteen times,” he joked. “The whole gym was just abuzz with the news!” To see more of Isaac’s video blog and daily lifestyle series, go to – Emily Hsieh
