EXCLUSIVE: Celine Dion on the Power of her ‘Brilliant’ New Fragrance

INF

Fragrance notoriously has the power to stir up feelings–but for Celine Dion, it’s able to spark as much emotion as any of her platinum-selling songs. “I remember buying my future husband a perfume that he was wearing at the time and I bought myself the same one to spray my pillow with his scent, and I was almost spraying my body with it,” she tells PEOPLE. “It was like I wanted to carry his scent as well.” Since then, the singer has gone pro with her love of fragrance, and will see her eighth U.S. launch this September with Pure Brilliance. And while creating a signature juice is no simple feat, inspiration, at least, is everywhere for Dion. “Probably because I’m carrying babies and I’ve been on vacation and I’m breathing great beach air and I’m with my family, it’s all about vacation and life,” the mom-to-be of twins says of this latest launch, a fruity floral created with Coty that features notes of pear, apple, green leaves, freesia and honeysuckle. As for her other well-known passion, the renown clothes-horse isn’t hard-pressed to name her go-to fashion favorite. “Pregnant or not, one of my favorite things is a tunic. You can wear it with flat shoes, with heels if you want to, even barefoot at the beach. It’s brilliant.” Fashion aside, the newest Brilliant thing in Celine’s life will launch in stores across America on September 6th, with prices starting at $28 for a 1-oz. eau de toilette. –Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester

H&M’s Next Designer Collaboration Revealed: Lanvin!

After much anticipation over which designer would helm H&M’s next collaboration, the Swedish retailer is finally ready to dish! Coveted French label Lanvin will be the next high-fashion brand to bring its star-loved creations to the mass market store. “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public,” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin, says in a statement confirming the collaboration this morning. While there aren’t many details on specifics of Alber’s womenswear and menswear designs for H&M yet, expect the luxurious French cut, tailoring and details that have become synonymous with the Paris-based design house. A first look at Alber’s new creations will be revealed on November 2, but you’ll have to wait until November 20, when the collaboration is set to hit stores in North America, to shop the much-anticipated collection. In the meantime, check out this video where Lanvin’s designer discusses the collaboration. Tell us: Are you excited for Lanvin’s designer collaboration to hit H&M in November?Andrea DeSimone

As if Jessica Simpson isn’t busy enough planning her pre-Fashion Week event where she is dressing “real girls” in her new denim line, she found the time to hang out with some real clowns. The circus performers, who are turning up in Jessica’s latest spot for Macy’s, which is part of their Find Your Magic campaign that takes us into the magical world that is the famed department store. In the commercial, more well-behaved designers and perfumers like Jennifer Lopez, Sean “Diddy” Combs and the Queen of the kitchen, Martha Stewart, take us behind the “employees only” door as they get their exclusive products in tip-top shape for consumers to swoon over. But, of course, Jessica finds herself in comic hot water as she chases a Macy’s balloon around the room after letting it slip from her pretty little fingers. You’ll have to tune in on September 12 when the commercial debuts to see just how it turns out for the celebrity fashion mogul.–Jessie Goldberg

Christina Hendricks Found It ‘Only Natural’ To Model Best Friend’s Designs

Courtesy Blackbird Design House

There’s no doubt that Christina Hendricks knows how to make the most of a wardrobe of curve-hugging sheaths and dagger-sharp stilettos, but the Mad Men vixen’s latest venture shows a new side to her as she gets cozy in winter woolens for friend Tamara Mello’s Blackbird Design House collection. “I have worn Tamara’s scarfs, hats, sweaters and jewelry for years,” Christina tells PEOPLE. “She’s my best friend and we always collaborate, so it was only natural that I would model when she asked!” The designer echoes Hendricks’s sentiment, explaining “Christina and I have been friends for a million years. We initially met through our ex-boyfriends who were good friends. Once those relationships ended, we kept each other. In a town where it’s really difficult to meet smart, genuine, people we quickly became each other’s family.” Sharing like minds, however, wasn’t the only incentive Mello needed to put her friend in front of the lens. “She’s the prettiest person I know, so she would come over for a visit and I would throw a scarf on her and start shooting. There was never a formal photo shoot. No hair and makeup, no lights I shot everything myself. She just makes everything look good with very little effort.” The Blackbird Design House collection, which features hand knit designs that incorporate Japanese shibori dying and felting techniques, is available on craft site Etsy.com, with scarves priced from $100 to $130. –Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester
