Victoria Beckham Snags a British Fashion Award Nomination

Fame

She may have become famous for being one-fifth of the Spice Girls, but Victoria Beckham is winning major kudos for going out on her own as as designer. With her creations already loved by some of Hollywood’s hottest stars, the announcement of her 2010 British Fashion Award Nomination — heard by fellow fashionistas including Sienna Miller at the London nomination party — appears to be the next well-deserved step in Posh’s burgeoning fashion career. The red carpet regular was so excited about the prestigious nod that she took to her new Twitter account shortly after hearing the news, writing, “So honoured to be nominated for designer brand of the year from the British Fashion Council!!!!in love and light x VB x.” Having designed everything from her signature sheath dresses and denim to sunglasses and even Range Rovers, Victoria has quickly become well-versed in the world of fashion. And although the competition is steep, joining the likes of well-respected designers like Mulberry, Burberry and Pringle of Scotland as her competition in the Designer Brand category, we are confident that Posh will be victorious at the December 7 awards. –Jessie Goldberg

Blake Lively Doesn’t Use a Stylist But Pals Around with Karl Lagerfeld

Courtesy Marie Claire

Whether she’s on or off the Gossip Girl set, actress Blake Lively rarely gets it wrong when it comes to her fashion choices. Which is why it’s particularly refreshing to hear that the California native has shunned the services of a stylist to take charge of her own look. “I’ve always loved fashion,’ she tells the UK edition of Marie Claire in its October issue, on which she graces the cover. “That’s why I don’t use a stylist. Number one, it’s such an expression of self,” she states with a confident air, before amusing the set with stories of her recent trip to Paris where she got to meet one of her own fashion idols, Karl Lagerfeld.  After chatting with Anna Wintour about her love of all things Chanel, she soon found herself bagging a front row seat at the fashion house’s Paris haute couture show in July and some one-on-one time with the designer himself. “So I went to dinner with Karl Lagerfeld and we got to spend a lot of priceless time together,” she gushes, excitedly. And the highlight? “Oh my gosh, riding around in Karl Lagerfeld’s Rolls-Royce with the top down. Insane!” To see Blake’s cover shoot, pick up the October issue of UK Marie Claire, or check out marieclaire.co.uk. –Monique Jessen

How Sara Rue is Maintaining Her Slimmer Figure — And Loving It

Frederick M. Brown/Getty

What better place to flaunt your spanking new size-six self than to an Emmy party? After dropping a remarkable 50 pounds, actress and Jenny Craig spokesperson Sara Rue did just that, showing off her svelte figure in a chic Rory Beca dress at Entertainment Tonight‘s Emmy party on Sunday. No longer self-conscious about her appearance, Rue said that she now has time to focus on the important things in life. “I’m able to fret about other things outside of what I’m going to wear, and how I’m going to look,” the actress told PEOPLE. “I can worry, instead, about whether or not we’re going to be there on time, or what time I have to be up tomorrow morning,” explained Rue, who declared her current weight as a healthy one. And to keep herself in that healthy range, Rue said she is still watching the calories and sticking to Jenny Craig’s maintenance plan. “I’m still calling my consultant, and still eating the food, but I’m just not as regimented as I was.” Just don’t expect her slimdown to go any further. “I don’t feel the need to be any thinner than I already am,” she said. “I like being curvy, I like having boobs, and I know that I’m a representation of someone that has not taken it too far to one extreme or the other.” –Jessie Goldberg; reporting by Reagan Alexander
