WATCH: Ellen DeGeneres Works It on the Runway at Fashion Week

In the throes of New York Fashion Week‘s celebrity sightings and seating snafus, designer Richie Rich is still able to incite gasps. While Rich is no stranger to celebrities walking in his shows — everyone from Pamela Anderson to Kelis — this year he concluded his Spring/Summer 2011 presentation of over-the-top ensembles with a light-hearted surprise. With famous faces like Ice-T and wife Coco gracing the front row, fashion folks hooped and hollered when a spiky-haired Ellen DeGeneres emerged amidst a blast of silver confetti to close out the show clad in a miniature cap, metallic suit and white high-tops—all capped off with a satirical swagger that only she could pull off. Watch Ellen strut, smirk and sashay—all in the name of fashion! –Justine Harman

Eric Thayer/Reuters/Landov; INF

Karl Lagerfeld infused a little Parisian chic into New York Fashion Week, holding the ultimate fashion fête Thursday night to celebrate the opening of the new Chanel Boutique in SoHo, drawing style heavyweights–and many a Chanel muse–including Diane Kruger, Blake Lively, Rachel Bilson, Liv Tyler and Sarah Jessica Parker. Dressed in a stunning black-and-pink striped dress that she paired with a sparkly jacket, SJP did not disappoint, telling PEOPLE that a girl feels “privileged, lucky, like a pumpkin,” when she slips into something Chanel. Blake Lively, who dined with the Kaiser himself after the party, dazzled in a sparkling purple Chanel dress while close Karl Lagerfeld pal Kruger also got cameras flashing in a ruffled blue-and-black dress from the designer, which she gave her own unique touch to before arriving. “I made it a lot shorter than it originally was,” she told PEOPLE. But she explains that her attendance at the bash goes well beyond loving a party. “I’ve known Karl half my life. He’s my mentor,” she said. “I used to work for Chanel when I was a model. I did the Allure perfume. I did the makeup line. He’s been the most influential person in terms of fashion in my life.” –Gillian Koenig; reporting by Jeffrey Slonim

Fergie Gets ‘Outspoken’ about Her Beauty Triumphs–and Tragedies

Larry Busacca/WireImage

With a new scent on store shelves and her glamorous red-carpet looks consistently gracing the fashion pages, Fergie seems to have her signature style down–but that wasn’t always the case. “There are many pictures of me from high school and I had the spiral perm and I scrunched my hair,” she tells PEOPLE. “I would take two hours sometimes to do my hair before school, which is ridiculous. Teasing my bangs up to six inches high.” These days, the superstar is more confident in her fashion sense, staying true to what she loves, while still evolving her look. She even recently abandoned her ever-present eyebrow ring. “I’ve always been really into piercings,” she says. “[There] was a time that I really felt naked without the piercings. And, you know, it was time for a change.” One other major change in the star’s life? Her aptly named debut fragrance, Outspoken, with Avon. “I had to keep my big mouth shut for two years and every interview I just wanted to burst out and tell people about the updates and where it was going and what the notes were going to be and how I was changing it and I couldn’t say anything, so that was ironic.” Now Fergie can be as outspoken as she’d like about the new scent, as it currently rolls into stores around the country. –Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester, reporting by Jackie Fields

Amanda Seyfried and Lauren Conrad Prove Just How Stylish ’25′ Can Be

Courtesy ELLE

What do Amanda Seyfried, Lauren Conrad and Megan Fox all have in common? Other than being three of Hollywood’s most stylish stars, Elle magazine has just given each cool girl a well-deserved place on their list of 25 hottest women under 25! To help the magazine celebrate its 25th anniversary, Lauren, Megan, Amanda and Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe get glam to grace four different covers for Elle‘s October issue. So what do these “25-somethings” think about being in their twenties? Suited up in a gray wool Gucci pantsuit for the shoot, 24-year-old former Hills star LC says that it’s “your time to be selfish; you still have freedom.” But actress Seyfried, who donned a transparent Lisa Perry rain jacket over coordinating picnic red-and-white checked Chanel sweater and bikini bottoms, is a bit more cautious about turning 25, admitting, “the best thing is, I’m happy,” but “the worst is that I’m scared; the scariest thing is that I know it can’t be easy—the years to come.” And for newlywed Megan Fox? “They can’t grasp that I’m old enough to be married,” she says of people’s reactions to her new hubbie Brian Austin Green and her twenty-something status. To see who else made the list and hear more from these stylish stars, check out elle.com or pick up the October issue, on newsstands Sept. 21. –Hana Choi
