Christina Applegate Turns Jewelry Co-Designer to Help Fight Breast Cancer

Courtesy Alex Woo (2)

Christina Applegate will always be known for her on-screen humor and charm, but after beating breast cancer, the star has also tacked on charitable spokesperson and co-designer to her resume! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the pregnant actress lent a hand to jewelry designer Alex Woo to create a stylish new pendant necklace to raise money for her Right Action for Women foundation. “This piece reminds me so much of the roses I made out of ribbons for my friends and family while in the hospital,” said Christina. “I am so grateful to Alex for creating such a beautiful piece to benefit Right Action for Women. Proceeds from the necklace will help women at high risk for breast cancer get the screenings and testing they need to beat this disease.” The tree and branches within the pendant–offered in both silver ($198) and gold ($998)–are designed to signify balance, peace, harmony and the curves of a woman. The seven leaves represent each day of the week, reminding women to live everyday to the fullest. To help ensure the early detection of breast cancer, visit alexwoo.com and purchase your necklace just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. –Jessie Goldberg

Look, let’s just combine Oktoberfest and Breast Cancer Awareness month into one beneficial celebration called OCTOBERBREAST! Eat, drink, raise money for breast cancer research, and be merry!

I really admire Christina and all her personal efforts toward raising breast cancer awareness. She has been so open about her double mastectomy, which women, let alone celebrities, would not talk about. Now she started her own foundation and does this…. all I can say is “Wow” and “Thank you!”

This is a wonderful idea; just wish that the prices were affordable…

- Jackie on

Great idea, but why couldn’t they be a little more affordable?

- Sonja on

They are very pretty, but too expensive for me.

- TB on

Beautiful but too $$$ for me too. I do like them though!

Wow, the necklaces are absolutely gorgeous! Not everyone can afford these necklaces as the prices are real steep. It would be nothing for a celebrity to buy a silver and a gold one, but us other people can’t afford it.

Beautiful! The necklace also comes in rose-gold which is just lovely. It’s for a good cause and I would love one, however the cost is out of my affordability range;).

They are absolutely beautiful! Too bad they are so expensive.

haha Rose! Right on! :)
