My biggest problem with any of these food attires is that we have thousands of starving children, just here in the U.S., and they couldn’t use a representation of the food? It’s such a waste!

Oh! How funny this sounds really so quirky!
This won’t be anything the public could eat-
But ‘archived for posterity’s’ sake that can’t be beat!
This dress made of meat’s worth 50 pounds of-
Could any clothing designer design with love?
To have your outfit needing intermittent refrigeration-
Shocking the whole world of every generation.
Neither a meat’s lovers nor any vegetarian visual delight-
Gaga wore on 2010’s MTV Video music Awards show that night!
This ‘meaty dress’ never to be worn or ever designed again-
As the designer Franc Fernandez tells us then.
The meaty one dress made for a specific reason in mind-

Also, one time, just ONE TIME, I would like to see Lady Gaga in something really classy. I get that her fashion is an expression of who she is, but my curiosity is just DYING to see her in an outfit that makes her look gorgeous and not like a statement.

Whatever floats her boat. I’d be scared of possibly contracting parasites or something from wearing raw meat…

@ Gayle, PETA issued a statement on this already. Google it. they pointed out that with all the heat from the stage lights the meat would have started rotting and I bet she smelled real good!

In this case I don’t care for animal rights (it’s a butchered animal meat and I eat meat), nor do I care if it looks good or not – whatever floats your boat. But in all seriousness, how comfortable was it to wear cold meat against your body…. it’s sticky, it will warm up against your skin, but the smell of raw meat would make me puke, especially if I wore it for a while. And top it off, have a flank of meat on your head. You can scent the meat all you want, but you will stink like a butchered pig.
Is that all GaGa can do to impress everyone? There are so many less repulsive things to do: she can puke on the stage, at least it lasts a few seconds, or she can take a dump. That would really be impressive.
Good work Gaga! What’s next?

The best jerky is not worn by pop stars. I wonder if they’ll even have all-natural jerky, or if they’ll do MSG and all sorts of bad chemicals.

geez…it’s just meat. Billions of people eat it. Some eat it raw. Some like it well-done. It’s not inhumane. She didn’t lead a pet Saint Bernard onto the red carpet, slaughter it and don it’s carcass. It’s wierd, but that’s all it is. It’s not like it was dripping meat juice or anything like that. Get a grip.

The woman is a mental case. That meat had to start to really smell,since it was on her body for a good period of time. And the bacteria from raw mean, yuck! It’s amazing the
lengths she will go to, to be noticed. I don’t think that there’s another celebrity out there, who would have a pulled something like this.

The question i want answered is… How bad did she smell? I can’t imagine a meat dress would smell very good… but to each their own, props for her to have enough guts to go out in public dressed in meat lol

Nevermind what I think about the style side of this… was the meat protected by something as she was wearing it? I can’t tell from the picture. I get paranoid cooking with raw meat and washing all surfaces in my kitchen and my hands after. I couldn’t imagine wearing it, eeeek.

People wear leather jackets and croc boots, belts and other accessories, think about it people how is this really that much different? 1) The 50 lbs of meat was mostly comprised of low-quality cuts, i.e., the parts that people typically don’t eat.
2) The “wasted” 50 lbs of meat is a drop in a bucket compared to the 29 million tons of food Americans waste every year. If you want to get outraged about wasted food, I suggest you look at your own eating/buying habits.

Is it just me or is this woman/girl for the birds. Her songs are not that good, she is not that good looking and her dress sense is defo not good. I know her idea is to be different but she crosses the line to just blame daft. Wearing meat does not send any ‘messages’ it is a girl with a designer saying “what shall we do next that has not been done or can we do it even worse”. Please give us a break and get a life….

I am not as offended by this dress as I am her “excuse” for why she did it. She said she was protesting don’t ask don’t tell, and she was escorted to the VMAs by several people discharged under DADT. So, I think this is a huge cop out. I think her original reason for doing it flopped or was even too controversial for her, so she came up with the lame excuse of DADT. I love Lady Gaga and don’t care about this dress. I lost all respect though because protesting DADT with this dress is clearly a lie.

Apparently, Lady GaGa feels she has no talent because she is relying on cheap shockers like a meat dress to sell her music. If she were truly talented, Lady GaGa would be a singer first and a fashion icon second. Lady GaGa lacks the class of singers/fashion icons from days gone by……..Cher, for one. Cher always showcased her talent first and used her fashion as an accessory. She wore her clothing with class, something the new female singers lack.

I think a lot of people missed the point of this “outfit.” Why is it all right to wear leather, which comes from an animal, but not all right to wear raw meat? Same with fur. I like leather, my purses are leather, but I understood what she was doing.

People looked at her outfit and said, “ewwww, gross,” but, I would bet that not one of them would have looked twice if it was made of leather.

And, PETA was all over it; they issued a statement immediately. I was surprised that they didn’t jump on her bandwagon to stress what she was saying. She was an advocate for their stance (I don’t support PETA; to each her own).
