Girly-Girl or Tomboy: Which Look Do You Like Better on Winona Ryder?

Lionel Hahn/Abaca; Jason Merritt/Getty

Though she’s been out of the spotlight for a while, Winona Ryder is back in full fashion force and is once again gracing the red carpet for her new film, The Black Swan. Channeling a 50′s-era pin-up in an ultra-feminine Louis Vuitton frock–complete with scarlet lips and ample cleavage–Ryder embodied ladylike elegance at the movie’s Toronto Film Festival premiere on Monday night. But the very next day the actress seemed to do a fashion 180, suiting up in a masculine look that was more Charlie Chaplin than Botticelli, donning trousers, a white button-down shirt and a dotted silk ascot at the film’s press conference. And while Hollywood’s leading ladies have long embraced the menswear trend, Ryder takes it a step further by rocking the look head-to-toe. Tell us: Do you prefer Winona’s feminine frock or sensible suiting? When you say “But the very next day the actress seemed to do a fashion 360″ didnt you mean “But the very next day the actress seemed to do a fashion 180″ because 360 leaves you exactly where u started. just a thought. :)

I am so happy Winona Ryder is getting more parts. She’s a lovely actress who needs to be in much, much more. Go girl!

She looks terrific either way, I just hope she has receipts.

@ Bob— LOL!!!! Ain’t that the truth! ;)

Feminine. I love it when women look like women.

The dress is beautiful, but look at how stiff she is! She’s definitely more comfortable in the boyish attire. Either way, she needs to do something with that hair!

The article DOES say she did a “fashion 180″, not 360. She looks great either way but she has a sort of gamine quality that allows her to look adorable in slightly boyish styles. I’ve always liked her as an actress and hope she’s back to stay. The shoplifting incident was obviously quite wrong. But I find it ironic that she seems to have suffered more professionally than others who have committed crimes at least as bad, if not worse.

She looks uncomfortable in both!

She definitely should have done something with her hair, but both outfits are nice. She looks great in black. And Bob, give it a rest. That was then, this is now, and I can’t believe people are still bringing it up.

I agree with “S” comment. She looks uncomfortable in both. She looks uncomfortable in her own skin!
