Marking her first beauty contract, Carrie Underwood is announcing in New York City this morning that she’s been named Olay Skin Care’s first-ever North American celebrity ambassador. And for the five-time Grammy award winner, who has been using Olay products for “at least a decade now,” there couldn’t be a better brand to break into the beauty business with. “As a little girl I remember my mom always using the original Olay Beauty Fluid and encouraging my sisters and I to take care of our skin. I love that Olay has managed to change with the times, yet stay in touch with women of all ages who want affordable skin care products that do what they promise,” Carrie says in a statement. The country music superstar, who is about to kick-off her “Play On Tour” this fall, will appear in print and television ads for Olay’s “Challenge What’s Possible” campaign, scheduled to debut later this year. Check back for an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with Carrie. Tell us: What do you think of Carrie Underwood’s new role as Olay Ambassador?–Andrea DeSimone

I use Olay products, but this will not ensure brand loyalty on my part. Don’t get me wrong, she is lovely and talented, I am just not a big fan.

No problem with Underwood. I think she would be a good a pick as any for a billion products – just not Olay. Olay has always been about looking young in your thirties and forties…even if it has managed to change with the times. But the product was always targeted at women older than in their twenties. Carrie is too young for the product. She is talented and beautiful and seemingly grounded….but not the ideal person. Cheers

Who cares…dont they make enough money singing already! I hate seeing celebrites doing make up ads too! I wish these companies would select an unknown attractive woman to do the ads or represent them…and every day girl….the money they make can help them with school, etc. Dont already give rich people these modeling positions. Makes me so angry.

I think it’s fantastic. She’s gorgeous. Who better to represent Olay.

Well as one of those aged “old hags” I am so thrilled that Ms. Carrie Underwood will be representing Olay. My Daughter, Daughter -In-Law, and my 17 year old Granddaughter need skin care products, like I do. There are diffent products for different ages. I have been wearing Olay for years and it has been very good for my skin. Additionally, the press release said she is honored to be working with Olay because they have products that are resonably priced for all.

I have to agree with Nina, Carrie is too young to show how Olay products help your skin to stay young and smooth. If they wanted a well know super beautiful country super star for the adds why not Faith Hill, Shania Twain or Reba!

Odd choice. She is too young, and what does she look like anyway? Her makeup is so heavy you can’t even tell.

If you guys read it, they are trying to target the younger generation. I think she is a great person for the role.
