BREAKING NEWS: Carrie Underwood Named Face of Olay Skin Care

09/08/2010 at 10:15 AM ET

Lionel Hahn/Abaca

Marking her first beauty contract, Carrie Underwood is announcing in New York City this morning that she’s been named Olay Skin Care’s first-ever North American celebrity ambassador. And for the five-time Grammy award winner, who has been using Olay products for “at least a decade now,” there couldn’t be a better brand to break into the beauty business with. “As a little girl I remember my mom always using the original Olay Beauty Fluid and encouraging my sisters and I to take care of our skin. I love that Olay has managed to change with the times, yet stay in touch with women of all ages who want affordable skin care products that do what they promise,” Carrie says in a statement. The country music superstar, who is about to kick-off her “Play On Tour” this fall, will appear in print and television ads for Olay’s “Challenge What’s Possible” campaign, scheduled to debut later this year. Check back for an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with Carrie. Tell us: What do you think of Carrie Underwood’s new role as Olay Ambassador?–Andrea DeSimone

She’s perfect for this campaign.

She is prettier when she is natural. minus the fake hair and the ton of makeup!

They couldn’t have picked a better choice! She is a lovely young woman, inside and out! Congratulations, Carrie!!!!

@ Deb…
I think it’s great to have a young girl showing other young girls that it’s NEVER to early to take care of your skin. I wish 25 years ago someone would have shown me that. In my teens the only thing you saw about skin care was older models. Great for Olay!

she doesnt always cake on make-up..maybe when she’s dolled up for tv or award shows or the red carpet, but her daily look is natural.i’ve seen her by her her tour bus and she came up to us signed autographs and she had on sweats a tee shirt, flip flops and little to no make-up she has beautifull skin and actually i thought she looked more beautifull that way then when she walks the red carpet. she looked fresh. carrie is a beautifull girl.

Wow some of these comments are so negative. Skin care begins in the 20′s…if you take care of your skin from the start, it helps along the way. Carrie is a good choice – she has values, morals, and is beautiful. Maybe they could add someone else in their 40′s or 50′s too to represent that age group, but I see no problem with Carrie there.

She’s beautiful. Olay is for any one at any age. All you have to do is read the label to find out the one that works for your skin type, so no, she’s not too young to be the spokesperson. You can never start a beauty regimen too soon :)

I would prefer to see someone who is in the modeling career doing the ads…not someone who doesn’t need the money.
These people are putting poor models out of work

Carrie has gorgeous skin…she is the perfect person to represent their product.
