WATCH: Jennifer Hudson Launches New Campaign to Lose for Good

She’s famously dropped from a size 16 to a 6 in a stunning trim-down, and now Jennifer Hudson is focusing her attention on those in need. The Weight Watchers spokesperson is teaming up with the brand’s Lose for Good initiative, which teaches families how to prepare healthy low-cost meals in an effort to help fight hunger and obesity. You can join Jennifer in helping the charity win–while you lose. Between Sept. 5 and Oct. 23, Weight Watchers members and online subscribers who lose weight or participate in other activities will help the company in its goal of donating $1 million to two leading hunger-fighting organizations: Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. I love Jhud’s warm spirit and kind heart. She is truely a class act. Although she is a very gorgeous young lady. Her inner beauty is what’s shinning all over the place. Jennifer is most authentic, and alot of people gravitate to her.

And everyone wonders why young girls have an unrealistic view of their bodies and so many eating disorders? It’s because they see celebrities touting weight loss ALL THE TIME. We need to eat heatlthy foods and exercise, burning more calories than we take in. Pre-prepared diet foods are NOT the answer; you stop eating them, you gain it all back.

@Susi Q, do you have any idea what you are talking about? You obviously have never heard of weight watchers, because its not pre-pared diet foods as you say. Weight watchers is the only program out of the main three that teaches you how to eat at home, make right choices, healthier foods, smart choices, it doesn’t tell you to starve yourself. So you should probably research a lil before throwing out your accusations. Jennifer Hudson doesn’t look horribly thin, she looks great and healthy. Weight watchers is for those looking to change their life style, not just lose pounds, it take a long term commitment. So jump down from your high horse and get over yourself. The reason why weight loss is so big is because a majority of the states suffer from obesity! Anyone knows that people are more likely to try something when they see someone they may look up to, or someone different than themselves try it and like it such as celebrities, then people are likely to look into it. So its not a bad thing and if obesity were down health insurance premiums would be as well, because most illnesses come from obesity! So I say preach and get people off their butts.

My sister lost over 100 lbs on Weight Watchers. She got down to her target weight and still uses Weight Watchers online tools to keep track of her progress and count her points. There is nothing wrong with losing weight via Weight Watchers; they are just giving you tools to use to track your progress and to help monitor your eating habits so you don’t begin to regain the weight after it’s lost. Also, they are teaching you how to make better food choices and have A LOT of recipes on their site. Weight Watchers is MUCH better than going on a crash diet of lettuce or cabbage and feeling starved, or taking diet pills.

She needs to make sure this is permanent for her- Shes needs to maintain this loss for 5 years before she can claim victory. I know many people who have lost weight but they haven’t been able KEEP it off.

I have to echo A’s comments to SusieQ. Having been someone who has followed Weight Watchers, there is nothing pre-packaged about it. This is not Nutri-System. They focus on making healthier substitutions in the foods you make yourself, as well as teaching and encouraging you to not deprive yourself from the little indulgences you enjoy as long as you hold yourself accountable for what you’ve eaten and how much. It truly is a lifestyle and not a fad-diet. Also, their goal weight ranges are very healthy and not unrealistic. Though there is a weigh-in, in order for them to track your progress, the real focus in on the change itself, not the actual number.
