FIRST LOOK: Christina Hendricks Lends Her ‘Mad Men’ Appeal to London Fog

Courtesy London Fog

Christina Hendricks’ Mad Men character, Joan Harris, brings sass and seduction to the AMC hit show, and now the sultry red-head is lending her sex appeal to London Fog. Following in the stylish footsteps of Gisele Bundchen and Eva Longoria Parker, Christina will star in the label’s fall 2010 ad campaign. “London Fog is a classic brand, which I love. It also ties into Mad Men, we used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to tie everything together,” the Emmy-nominated actress says of the outerwear label. “The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It works for anyone – it worked in the 1960s and it works now.” And it was Christina’s own timeless glamour and sophistication that landed her the role, according to the label. “Christina has a modern appeal but also harks back to a bygone era,” adds the brand’s chief marketing officer, Dari Marder. Shot by Nino Muñoz, the elegant black-and-white ads feature Hendricks posing seductively in London Fog coats and accessories, and are set to debut in October fashion and lifestyle magazines as well as outdoor and online. Forget Tennis! Serena Williams Misses Her High Heels When Injured

Courtesy SobeFit Magazine

An unexpected foot injury may be keeping Serena Williams out of the upcoming U.S. Open, but it’s not just the tennis courts or the chance at victory that she’ll be missing. “When I get injured it’s devastating because I know I won’t be able to wear heels. I’m practically in tears,” the No. One-ranked tennis star laments in the September/October issue of SOBeFiT magazine. Serena, along with older sister Venus, is already known to exhibit some serious fashion flair on the courts, but the world’s top player takes her off-court style very seriously–ranking working on her personal maintenance and shopping over working out. “I’m the complete not-normal athlete, and I often wonder how I got into sports because I hate working out. I hate running. I hate all that stuff. I love doing my nails, reading, going to the movies and wearing high heels–the higher the better actually.” Now that’s a girl after our own hearts! To hear more from Serena, check out sobefitmagazine.com, or pick up the current issue of SOBeFiT, on newsstands August 24. –Hana Choi

The actress’s stunning platinum wedding band, designed by friend and star-favorite jeweler Cathy Waterman, was giving off a shimmer all its own, helping the couple cement their union in style. “She had a great time working with the couple,” says a representative for Waterman in a statement, who provided both Paquin and Moyer with handmade platinum wedding bands “that suit them perfectly.” Paquin was snapped flashing the stunning band while arriving at Fred Segal in Santa Monica on Monday, while Moyer was also spotted wearing his new ring while skateboarding around Venice, Calif. –Gillian Koenig
