FIRST LOOK: Lindsay Lohan’s New Gig As Marc Ecko’s ‘Digital Muse’

Courtesy Marc Ecko

Lindsay Lohan‘s recent stint in jail doesn’t seem to be hindering her fashion career. Before her incarceration, designer Marc Ecko enlisted the actress as his “digital muse” to star in a new interactive ad campaign for the fall 2010 collection of his contemporary clothing line Cut & Sew. Instead of just posing for pretty pictures, Lindsay will appear in a series of online video skits, shot by Markus Klinko and Indrani, that will be featured on a dedicated site, marceckomuse.com, later this month. The multimedia initiative combines the traditional ideas of a print campaign with web technology to create a multi-dimensional, virtual experience for the consumer using effects similar to holograms. So why Lindsay? “I cast Lindsay because people are fascinated with her – they can either feel good or bad things, but they are feeling some type of emotion. She’s a pop culture icon,” Ecko said in a release. Lindsay will also appear in a more traditional print campaign alongside the designer, shot by famed photographer Zach Gold in New York City and scheduled to bow in September magazines. Kim Kardashian To Launch Luxury Earring Collection

Courtesy Loren Jewels

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to the bling business. First she co-designed an Armenian-inspired collection for L.A. label Virgins, Saints and Angels with sisters Khloe and Kourtney, then she partnered with celebrity jeweler Pascal Mouawad for two new lines—one of which will hit bebe stores this fall—and now, Kim is joining forces with Loren Jewels creator Loren Ridinger for a luxe line of earrings! Aptly called the “Kim Kollection,” the 20-piece range was inspired by Kim’s glamorous Hollywood lifestyle and will incorporate diamonds, emeralds, rubies and other precious stones. “Kim’s a fashion icon and millions of people are inspired by her style making. Our collaboration on the ‘Kim Kollection’ is a natural fit,” said Ridinger in a statement. And while it won’t officially launch until September 1, you can get a sneak peek at the collection starting tomorrow, on lorenjewels.com. And if that’s still too long to wait, check out the rose-cut and pave diamond shape 24kt gold earrings Kim is modeling in this personal picture, as well as the 38.62 carat blue-and-white diamond pair below. But with price points ranging from $10,000 to $40,000, this uber-posh line won’t be as budget-friendly as Kim’s previous design ventures. Tell us: Would you splurge on Kim’s new collection of movie star-worthy earrings?Andrea DeSimone

Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama and Carey Mulligan Top Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed List

John Shearer/WireImage; Jason Reed/Landov; Mike Marsland/WireImage

What do Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama and Carey Mulligan have in common when it comes to fashion? By the looks of it, not much! But according to Vanity Fair, these three ladies have all earned a coveted spot on the magazine’s annual International Best Dressed List for their individual taste—not, as one might expect, for their ability to follow fashion trends. Lady Gaga earned her way onto the list for the first time this year for her outlandish headwear and jaw-dropping ensembles. The First Lady, who topped the list with her husband last year, makes the cut in 2010 for her revival of All-American style. And new-comer Carey Mulligan rightly falls into place on the prestigious list for her “existential pixie” look and love of high-fashion labels like Lanvin and Miu Miu. Also earning a place on the 2010 list? Diane Kruger, Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal, David Beckham and France’s First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. To see Vanity Fair‘s complete International Best Dressed List of 2010 visit vanityfair.com. Tell us: Do you agree with their choices? Who do you think should have made their list?Andrea DeSimone

Jennifer Hudson: ‘I Don’t Want To Lose Any More Weight’

John Akehurst for InStyle

Jennifer Hudson has experienced a long list of firsts this past year, from having a baby and planning a wedding to tackling a meaty new role, but none have been quite as shocking as her total body transformation. After dropping from a size 16 to a 6, the fall cover girl tells InStyle Makeover that she sometimes has to do a double take when she sees herself in photos. “I’m like, ‘Wow! This is what I look like?’” says the new mom, who slimmed down with 5-day-a-week workouts with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak and following Weight Watchers, which she is now the spokesperson for. “It’s not a diet, it’s really a way of living that teaches you better skills,” says Hudson, who admits to faltering on stricter eating plans. “For years I felt like I could never have ice cream, but I can eat ice cream occasionally now!” And with her sleek new look, the star has also developed an entirely different type of appetite—for clothes! “I have a serious shopping problem now,” Jennifer confesses. “Each city we go to, my suitcase won’t hold my new clothes so we have to box them up and ship them home.” And while change seems to be a constant for this multi-talented star, don’t expect her to drop another dress size. “I don’t want to lose any more weight, and you’re never going to see me skinny.” To hear more from Jennifer’s interview, check out InStyle.com or pick up the fall issue of InStyle Makeover, on newsstands Friday. –Jessie Goldberg

Caftans Are Back! Would You Wear One?

Splash News Online; Michael Loccisano/Getty; Patrick McMullan/Sipa

First it was turbans, and now it’s caftans. That’s right — the ’70s fashion staple made famous by Mrs. Roper on Three’s Company has flowed from the beaches to the streets this summer on some unexpected stars. In July, Jessica Simpson floated on air during her birthday getaway with boyfriend Eric Johnson, strolling through Capri in a plunging orange and giraffe-print caftan that made for the perfect shore-to-shopping look. This weekend, we spotted not only uber-stylist Rachel Zoe in a dramatic leopard print caftan in the Hamptons, but also Hillary Clinton getting seriously glam in bold turquoise and navy caftan for her daughter Chelsea’s rehearsal dinner in Rhinebeck, NY. Is it nostalgia? Inspiration from Sex and the City 2? Are we all just sick of tight jeggings? We think the caftan’s voluminous cut paired with exotic prints and luxurious fabrics make it the perfect end of summer look—glamorous and comfortable. Tell us: What do you think? Would you wear a caftan? – Mai Dinh

Ke$ha To Design Watches for Casio

Janet Mayer/Splash News Online

With a chart-topping song called “Tik Tok,” it only makes sense that Ke$ha is one of Casio’s latest brand ambassadors. “I obviously love to over accessorize and these watches are just epic,” she told PEOPLE. “They kind of stand the test of time—the vintage ones are amazing.” And the singer, who represents the Baby-G brand, isn’t just a pretty face for the popular watches. Along with performing at Monday night’s N.Y.C. celebration for her fellow brand ambassadors Bryan Greenberg (for Edifice) and Lamar Odom (G-Shock), the feisty musician is also exhibiting her design talents, creating two watches for the line, set to launch next year. And what can fans expect? “My live show and lifestyle is definitely reflective in the watches because they’re relatively affordable, they’re versatile and they’re fun and colorful,” she explains. “You can go swimming in them, you can stomp around the forest in them, you can play a live show in them. They’re sturdy, and tough.”  –Shruti Dhalwala

Mary J. Blige Shatters Fragrance Sales Records

Carol’s Daughter; Shea Walsh/AP

She’s already scored eight multi-platinum albums, but this weekend, Mary J. Blige topped another kind of chart, launching her debut scent to record-shattering sales. In a series of live on-air spots on Saturday, the singer presented her fragrance, My Life, on HSN in what became the network’s biggest-ever single-day fragrance launch with over 60,000 units sold over six hours. Despite the scent’s instant success, the former “tomboy” didn’t always expect perfume to be in the cards. “I wasn’t always info fragrance,” she admitted to PEOPLE. “I wasn’t even into makeup when I was young. I started getting into makeup and perfume when I was about 18 or 19 years old. I had some really bad perfumes until I found one that I loved.” Her trial-and-error experience gave her a solid background for creating the scent with beauty brand Carol’s Daughter. The finished product, a juice that includes notes like gardenia petal, bartlett pear, tuberose, jasmine and cashmere woods, is housed in a gold-capped heart-shaped bottle and was specially priced during the program at $46 rather than its standard $55 purchase price. But it’s not just her music fans who can’t get enough of the scent–Hollywood itself seems enamored, with famous friends like Oprah Winfrey and Naomi Campbell making special call-in cameos during Mary’s debut. Missed it? Check in with HSN.com to find out when Blige’s spots will be re-aired–and check out the newest issue of PEOPLE for more on Mary J.’s beauty philosophy. –Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester; reporting by Samantha McIntyre
