Ashley Greene’s Style Inspiration for Alice Cullen: Jackie O!

Courtesy ASOS

Playing The Twilight Saga‘s most stylish vampire, Alice Cullen, certainly has its chic advantages, but that doesn’t mean that Ashley Greene wouldn’t like to change up her bloodsucker’s penchant for high-fashion. At a private event in West Hollywood Monday to celebrate her ASOS July magazine cover, the LBD-clad actress, joined by stylish pals like Kelly Osbourne, told WWD that she’d like her onscreen character to follow her stylish lead. “I want her to have an Audrey Hepburn-Jackie-O mix. I am a huge fan of the Jackie O Ray-Bans. I love ballet flats for her and leggings,” she told WWD. Is Alice Cullen’s stark white complexion and ever-changing eye color going to be flattered by a pearl necklace and a Chanel suit? Looks like we’ll have to wait until Breaking Dawn, scheduled to hit theaters November 2011, to see if Alice quenches Ashley’s fashion thirst! –Jessie Goldberg

Bruce and Kris Jenner ‘Encourage’ Kendall’s Modeling Career

kimkardashian.celebuzz.com

With older sisters like Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, it might be hard to steal the spotlight in the Kardashian family, but there’s no denying that budding model Kendall Jenner has had her fair share of the limelight lately. From her controversial bikini photo shoot to her recent high fashion portfolio pictures, it’s obvious that she’s serious about making a name for herself in the industry, and her parents couldn’t be more proud. “One of her lifelong passions is to be a model, and it’s something she’s really excited about,” Kris Jenner told PEOPLE at an E! junket for Keeping Up with the Kardashians in LA Tuesday. While her father, Bruce, has voiced his concerns in the past about Kendall pursuing modeling, he’s now supporting her career—as long as her schoolwork doesn’t suffer. “I sat down with her and said ‘If I see school slipping, that’s not going to work. You’re going to stop until you’re out of school,’” he said. “Last year she had her best year ever, so I encourage it. I think it builds a lot of character in a young person so I have no problem with them starting early.” As for the bikini photos that caused quite a stir earlier this month? “I grew up in San Diego wearing a bikini my entire life, so I didn’t think there was anything wrong with it,” said Kris. “They’re tasteful, she’s covered up completely and they’re not provocative. They’re just gorgeous shots.” –Mussarat Bata

Carrie Underwood’s Wedding Day Beauty Tricks

Simone & Martin Photography

Carrie Underwood’s summer wedding in Georgia called for some creative moves to keep the bride looking cool, says Underwood’s make-up artist Melissa Schleicher. “It was really, really hot and it was raining around 4 o’clock, just before the wedding, so I had to think of the humidity,” she says. “The hair was a concern so I did kind of an updo. I just it curled it all over and just pieced it up and pinned it with bobby pins all over, real simple.” The wedding day do was created on the spot, she says. “We didn’t practice before the wedding or anything – we’ve done so many award shows and so many hairstyles, so she just lets me do what I do.” One element of her look that did require a bit of homework, however, was Carrie’s lush set of false eyelashes. The “very full lash that can be dramatic or natural” was created specially for her by Schleicher and Stephen Moleski of Smoke and Mirrors Beauty, whose lashes are “easy to put on and undetectable,” she says. Want to try out Carrie’s look yourself? The limited edition “Heart” lash, based on Underwood’s custom design will soon available for sale on Molesky’s web site. FIRST LOOK: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Want To Dress Michelle Obama

Courtesy Harper’s Bazaar

These days, acting has taken a backseat for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen–and with good reason. In the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the designing duo open up about their successful high-end label, The Row, as well as their dream client. The Row is just three years in the making and proof that the 24-year-olds have successfully crossed from Hollywood to Fifth Avenue. They credit a disciplined work ethic (six-day weeks!) and an easy-to-follow aesthetic: “When we were growing up, our mother taught us never to have your belly button exposed,” Mary-Kate tells Bazaar. And though both Mary-Kate and Ashley are known for their boho-meets-grunge style, as designers, they offer up a fall collection that’s decidedly more minimalist and low-key, showcasing muted classics like a black wrap coat, an expertly-tailored white shift and a perfect lazy-day jumpsuit. The style mavens derive their inspiration from designers like Miuccia Prada and legendary model-turned-actress Lauren Hutton. And while stars like Jessica Biel and Charlize Theron have been spotted in The Row, there is one leading lady they are hoping to dress. “I’d love to get Michelle Obama in the Row,” Ashley says. “The simple suits and things. It’s all made in America, so why not?” How patriotic! Read more at harpersbazaar.com, or pick up your own issue on newsstands August 17. — Hana Choi
