Carrie Underwood's Wedding Day Beauty Tricks

Carrie Underwood’s summer wedding in Georgia called for some creative moves to keep the bride looking cool, says Underwood’s make-up artist Melissa Schleicher. “It was really, really hot and it was raining around 4 o’clock, just before the wedding, so I had to think of the humidity,” she says. “The hair was a concern so I did kind of an updo. I just it curled it all over and just pieced it up and pinned it with bobby pins all over, real simple.” The wedding day do was created on the spot, she says. “We didn’t practice before the wedding or anything – we’ve done so many award shows and so many hairstyles, so she just lets me do what I do.” One element of her look that did require a bit of homework, however, was Carrie’s lush set of false eyelashes. The “very full lash that can be dramatic or natural” was created specially for her by Schleicher and Stephen Moleski of Smoke and Mirrors Beauty, whose lashes are “easy to put on and undetectable,” she says. Want to try out Carrie’s look yourself? The limited edition “Heart” lash, based on Underwood’s custom design will soon available for sale on Molesky’s web site. Congratulations Carrie! I wish you and your husband nothing but the best. (For Clint: I hear you but this is an entertainment magazine, not the evening news.)

I agree Clint. I thought she was forgettable in college as well.

..though she is a truly beautiful girl, inside and out….I do not think she looke nearly her best on her wedding day. First of all…far, far, far too much makeup..she doesn’t need it! And the hair..just a mess! How much more beautiful and elegant it would have beeen to go with a sleek bun/chignon and about half that amount of makeup..this look is overdone and tacky…sorry!!!!

Clint and Renee must be working at McDonalds. Jealous much?

why anyone would want to look orange on their wedding day is beyond me…too much tanning – yuck !! also, who wants fake eyelashes??? ewwwwww…her face is barely recognizable in this pic! a little too fake for my taste. i liked her a lot better during idol…she wasn’t all “hollywood” then… and much prettier. (with more meat on her bones!)

Do they not have editors at PEOPLE.com? I find typos in every article I read on here…no excuse for that! This isnt perezhilton.com!

Carrie is a doll, but that hairdo could have been alot more “polished” and neater looking. Looks like just what the stylist did – pick up pieces and poke with bobby pins. Carrie has worn some very pretty updos which I was hoping to see for her wedding. southern I thought was more sophisticated.

Personally – for having so many professionals handle her “look”, I think her eyes are too black, eyelashes look like old, cakey mascara was used and her eyebrows are really dark for being such a light blonde! She is so gorgeous – but she must prefer that heavy liner as opposed to a more natural look.
