Nicole Richie Dragged Into Kitson Lawsuit

Credit: Bauer-Griffin

Rumors may be swirling that Nicole Richie‘s clothing line Winter Kate is suing L.A. hot shop Kitson, but a rep from Majestic Mills, the company that distributes Nicole’s Winter Kate collection, tells PEOPLE that just isn’t the case. “Neither Nicole Richie nor Winter Kate is suing Kitson. This is purely a legal issue between Majestic Mills, a manufacturing company, and Kitson, a vendor. Kitson’s efforts to link Nicole to this are purely attempts for them to generate press, which is unfortunate and ridiculous.” The celeb-friendly store also maintains the issue has nothing to do with the star. “Kitson has always supported Nicole Richie in all her creative endeavors,” Dean Khial, Director of Operations for Kitson, tells PEOPLE. “We are simply defending what was written in the Purchase Orders. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Nicole and the House of Harlow Jewelry Collection by Pascal Mouawad continues to be a best seller at Kitson. Hopefully the input of retailers around the world will help build a successful brand for Winter Kate and House of Harlow as retailers provide access to her fans.”– Andrea DeSimone; reporting by Jen Garcia

‘RHONY’ Star Alex McCord Gets A Real Model Makeover

Mark Wimberly; Rick Day

Last season on The Real Housewives of New York City, fans cringed while Alex McCord subjected herself to a beach photo shoot by costar Kelly Bensimon, who came unhinged during a getaway to “Scary Island.” “That photo shoot was probably the only time I was ever really uncomfortable at a shoot,” McCord says of working with Bensimon as her photographer in the Virgin Islands. Now, McCord, who blogs weekly for PEOPLE about The Real Housewives of Washington D.C., is more comfortably back in front of the camera, thanks to a new deal with the celebrity division of New York Model Management. “I’ve since had the chance to shoot with some fantastic photographers…I’m very happy with the results,” she says. McCord describes her personal style as “eclectic,” which won’t come as a surprise to style fans, who’ve seen her in everything from Roberto Cavalli to a FEED-bag dress. “I love to mix things up and do ruffles one day, tailored another and then maybe buttoned up the next,” she says, adding that for fall she’s picked up “a military three-quarter length jacket from Walter that I love” and “a great turtleneck knit dress from Rolando Santana.” So what does husband Simon van Kempen and her sons, Johan and François, think of Mom’s makeover? “Simon is very proud of me, and the boys think I look very glam.” –Aaron Parsley

Rihanna’s High Fashion Wax Figure Revealed!

Dave Allocca/Startraks

She’s one of the hottest acts in the world so it only makes sense that Rihanna is now immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds. The stylish body double of the “Rude Boy” songstress was unveiled at the museum’s Washington D.C. location this morning to much fanfare. Clad in a black lace corset, fitted jacket, pants and black silk heels, the sleek look-a-like figure was modeled after the outfit that Rihanna wore to French design house Balmain’s show during Paris Fashion Week last October. In a nod to the singer’s signature rocker-glam style, Madame Tussauds outfitted the chic figure with a large glittering pin, sparkling gold-and-diamond ring, giant diamond earrings and tennis bracelet. And while Rihanna was not on hand for the big reveal on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Madame Tussauds confirms to PEOPLE that the stylish star got a sneak peek of her figure last week “and absolutely loved it.” So much in fact that the singer Tweeted a photo of her sneak preview, and made it her Twitter picture! Beginning today through September 30, fans who stop by Madame Tussauds Washington D.C. and mention the word “umbrella” will receive a buy-one-get-one-free admission! Check out madametussauds.com for more information. –Gillian Koenig and Jessie Goldberg
