Kelly Cutrone Isn’t Writing Another “Self-Help” Book

Mary Ellen Mark/Bravo

Public relations powerhouse Kelly Cutrone may have used her famous tough-love attitude to give real-world advice in her first book, If You Have to Cry Go Outside… And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You, but don’t call her a self-help author. “I didn’t know it was going to be in [that] section,” Cutrone tells PEOPLE. “The kids that are buying my book were like ‘what are we doing in the self-help section–we are 21 years-old, we are just starting our lives.’ And I started thinking that there is not a section for this age group.” Now, with a second book set to hit shelves this spring, the Bravo reality star is working to restructure the bookstore. “My idea is that there should be a section called ‘Journey’ and when my book comes out in May, I want it to be in [this] new section.” So what can we expect from Cutrone in her second book? “I just started writing it last week, but I am excited about it,” The Kell on Earth star says. “Right now the working title is Yes I Said That, but I don’t know what it’s going to be called.” Stay tuned for more details. Dita Von Teese Loves Her High-Maintence Beauty Routine

Florian Seefried/Getty

Much like Lady Gaga in her ever-shocking ensembles, burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese never deviates from her signature 1950s pin-up girl style. But does the star, 37, ever wish she could just get comfy in sweatpants and no makeup? “No never,” she tells British Vogue. Always accessorizing her retro-glam outfits from designer favorites like Jean Paul Gaultier and Elie Saab, are her glossy black retro waves and scarlet lips–hair and makeup that she says takes no longer than the faux au naturale look of some of her friends: “They straighten their hair, wear all that bronzer and beige lipstick and apply 50 coats…I’m doing the same thing just with different colours.” From hair to shoe, it’s a precise look, but Dita insists, “I get ready just as quick as any other woman I know.” And unlike her red carpet companions, Dita tells the publication that she does not rely on a stylist to lift her fashion spirits. Instead, she looks to avant-garde style icons like Daphne Guinness and the late Isabella Blow, whom she says she admires as “women that took risks and have their own personal style without having to pay someone to do it.” Tell us: Do you think Dita Von Teese is a style icon in the making? –Christie LaRusso

Exclusive Details of Lady Gaga’s Hello Kitty Shoot

Indrani/Markus Klinko Photography

Brace yourself for an up close and personal peek inside the scene of a stylistic masterpiece: Lady Gaga transformed into a “feline goddess” for last week’s episode of Bravo’s Double Exposure. Taking Hello Kitty to a kitschy high, stylist GK Reid and photographers Markus Klinko and Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri brought Gaga fashion to a whole new level. “It was Markus’s [Klinko] crazy idea to combine Gaga’s shoot with a shoot for Hello Kitty, and for Gaga’s record label Interscope, requiring dozens of images for three different clients in just three hours,” said Indrani. “And surprisingly it worked, as Gaga wanted to do a homage to the Kitty, and in the process we transformed the house of Hello.” In the shoot, GK accessorized Gaga with a diamond Kitty purse, which she wore in the place of panties, and a diamond-studded mask hiding half her face and shoes made out of discarded lip glosses. But the real standout? Gaga’s funhouse eyes, which were painted on the diva, who had to complete the shoot with her eyes wide shut. “We had planned to enlarge her eyes in post production,” Indrani tells PEOPLE, “but Gaga wanted to do it live, though she had to shoot with her eyes closed.” –Jessie Goldberg

Life After ‘The Hills’ For Kristin Cavallari: Designing Shoes!

INF/AFF-USA

Drama seems to have taken a backseat in Kristin Cavallari’s life since The Hills wrapped last week, allowing the reality star a little extra time to dabble in, what else?, fashion! The blonde starlet, who donned a plunging silver dress by The Blonds to the premiere of Salt Monday night, told PEOPLE that she is busy working on a shoe line. “I’m designing a shoe for Shoe Dazzle right now, which is like a one time, one deal show which a portion of the proceeds [will] go to my charity ‘OneKid OneWorld,’” she said. “I’m excited about that because I want to have my own shoe line so it’ll be like a good first shoe to get my feet wet with.” And she took her shoe obsession straight to the red carpet last night, matching her silver criss-cross platform sandals to her tough spike-shouldered dress, saying, “Shoes are my number one thing.” And while we’re not sure Cavallari’s creations will place her among the renowned ranks of Choo, Louboutin or Blahnik, we still can’t wait to see what she comes up with! –Jessie Goldberg

Ken Paves and Famous Friends Rally For Kids With Cancer

Ramey

When celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves isn’t creating lust-worthy locks for clients like Jessica Simpson, he’s busy playing another role: advocate. On Monday, Makeover Madness took over his trendy West Hollywood salon to raise money for the Rally For Kids, an annual car rally that raises awareness and resources for children suffering from cancer. Involved with the charity since its inception, Paves even got behind the wheel and raced himself last year. Paves and his glam team, including eyebrow guru Anastasia Soare and Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, took this year’s fundraising into their own talented hands with, what else?, makeovers! Joined by long time friend and honorary chair of the Rally Eva Longoria Parker, who stopped by the salon to play with the children, Paves offered a variety of services from the Shine treatment ($250) to the VIP Glitz service ($1,000), with all proceeds going directly to the charity. And lest he be too engrossed in making just his charitable clients look gorgeous, Paves made sure to personally tend to some of the children who survived cancer with their own mini-makeovers. “I asked some of the kids what cancer meant to them and they said how scary they think it is,” Paves said. “All these proceeds go to research for kids with cancer. It’s just an amazing cause.” –Mussarat Bata
