Katy Perry’s ‘Purr’-fect New Perfume Launch

Brian Zak/Sipa

With a new album on the way and wedding plans to actor-comedian Russell Brand underway, what more could native “California Gurl” Katy Perry possibly want? Her own perfume! “I have about 50 fragrances and I’m intrigued by the mystique scent has,” Perry tells WWD. “I saw a lot of my peers getting into this world, and, as with my music, I thought I could bring my touch to the category and make it competitive,” she says, citing fellow stars-turned-perfumers like Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian. As for the unusual and fun name — two Perry trademarks — Katy explains, “I’m a very lyrical-based person, and the whole ‘purr’ thing kept coming back — [the sound is in] perfume, perfect, even Perry if you say it a certain way.” And while she admits to owning iconic fragrances like Clinique Happy, Ralph Lauren’s Romance and Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle, she says she wanted to develop a scent that “was completely unlike anything I’d smelled before.” Including notes of peach nectar, apple and green bamboo, as well as freesia, Bulgarian rose and vanilla orchid–all packaged in a cat-shaped bottle inspired by her own on-stage Catwoman costume–we are sure it will be purr-fect. Purr is set to launch in November at Nordstrom stores and nordstrom.com.Gillian Koenig

Which Designer Is Dressing Heidi Klum for the Emmy Awards?

Flynet

Project Runway host Heidi Klum always makes a splash on the red carpet, whether she’s donning a dress by Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli or a Runway contestant. So what will she be wearing for the Primetime Emmy Awards where she is nominated for outstanding host for a reality or reality-competition program on August 29? That remains to be seen. “I have been putting my little feelers out there to some designer friends of mine,” she tells PEOPLE. “I’m getting close to whittling something down — you have to! The fashion world kind of closes for August. Everyone hops on their boats, drinking champagne and disappearing for a few weeks. So you have to know what you’re doing before then.” One designer Klum would be happy to collaborate with again? Former Runway winner Christian Siriano. “He doesn’t forget to send look books and samples. He’s always in the running with other designers that send me dresses,” she shares. “Not that I dislike the other [former winners]. I just think he has the most business-like brain of them.” We can’t wait to see what Emmy nominee Klum decides to wear when she hits the Emmys red carpet. –Kate Hogan

kimkardashian.celebuzz.com

After landing a sweet gig fronting a fashion campaign for Forever 21 Twist last year, Kendall Jenner’s modeling career seems to be full steam ahead! Following in the footsteps of big sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, Kendall, 14, hit the sand in Malibu last week for a photo shoot with photographer Nick Saglimbeni. And while she hasn’t turned into a full-fledged bikini model yet, she’s certainly making her big sisters proud! Both Kim and Khloe took to their personal websites to show off the beachside images from Kendall’s budding portfolio. “They turned out sooo gorgeous! She’s going to take over the modeling world… you just watch!” wrote Kim. And if that wasn’t enough praise, Khloe wrote, “I think she’s the next Cindy Crawford. Absolutely stunning! No wonder she’s a Wilhelmina model!” By the looks of it, the world will be seeing a lot more of Kendall Jenner. Next up for the fledgling model? Kendra Wilkinson: I’m on a Break from Dieting

Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

Kendra Wilkinson‘s battle to get her pre-baby body back has been ongoing since giving birth to her son Hank Baskett IV in December 2009. But the E! reality star, who has gone back and forth between loving her new figure and longing for her former shape, has put dieting on hold for now. “It’s so hard because I was on this book tour, and…doing a book tour, you’re all over the country and you have to catch flights and everything,” Wilkinson told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show this morning. “So I actually took a break from my diet. I’m on my gaining weight part now.” But things aren’t slowing down for new author Wilkinson and her football player husband Hank Baskett anytime soon. The happily married couple is in the process of moving back to Philadelphia — Baskett was re-signed as a wide receiver for the Eagles in March. “We’re having picnics on our living room floor right now,” Wilkinson said of packing up their Los Angeles home. “Man, it’s hard right now, but we’re doing it. We’re so all over the place. We need to settle.” And speaking of settling down, Seacrest cheekily suggested that once Wilkinson and Baskett are finally moved into their new home, it’ll be time for them to have another baby. Wilkinson’s response? “That’s right, that’s right.” –Dahvi Shira

London Calling: Jennifer Aniston Hits Harrods to Launch Her New Scent

Richard Young/Startraks

Jennifer Aniston seems to be playing the part of perfumer like a seasoned pro, stepping out in London earlier today to launch her first-ever fragrance. The stunning star–in a chic strapless dress from Valentino and matching sky-high heels–hit famed British department store Harrods right around lunchtime to introduce the scent to the hundreds of UK fans who had gathered. Meeting, greeting and signing countless bottles of perfume, the actress smiled throughout the promotional appearance, where refreshed campaign images appeared to reveal a new name for the scent. Now called, quite simply, Jennifer Aniston, despite months of marketing the new scent as Lolavie, the namesake decison seems fitting, giving the star’s low-key approach to style and her previous description of the fragrance as “a nonperfume perfume.” British fans who bought the scent not were not only treated to the actress’s autograph, but also the clear streamlined bottle that the juice is packaged in. And while Jennifer Aniston is priced around $47 for a 50-ml. bottle in England, it looks like Americans will have to wait to get their fragrance fix from the A-lister: U.S. distribution has yet to be finalized. –Gillian Koenig
