Lindsay Lohan’s Hair Extensions: Tangled Up In Jail Rules

With jailhouse rumblings that Lindsay Lohan is getting special treatment behind bars, authorities want to set the record straight about one thing: The star got to keep her lanky hair extensions only because they were too hard to remove. According to the Los Angeles Times, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said that most inmates at the Century Regional Detention Facility will have their extensions removed upon entering–but only if the fake locks are actually detachable. Lohan’s, he said, are bonded to her hair, sewn too close to the scalp to remove. Lohan, 24, has been jailed at the women’s facility in Lynwood, Calif., since July 20 for a 90-day sentence for violating probation in a DUI case. Her term is being reduced due to overcrowding and she has less than a week left behind bars. –Sara Hammel

Already known for its coveted red carpet gowns and one-of-a-kind dresses, Marchesa is now taking couture to an entirely new place — your dinner table! The glamorous brand is launching a chic china collection with renowned tabletop brand Lenox, so how better to celebrate than with a chic cocktail party? Marchesa co-founder Georgina Chapman gathered friends like Kerry Washington to N.Y.C.’s Hudson Hotel to celebrate the partnership last week with yummy finger food and signature cocktails. “The Hudson Hotel penthouse was the perfect backdrop for our summer gathering to launch the Marchesa by Lenox collection. The space was amazing,” said the pregnant designer, who co-founded the brand with fellow Brit Keren Craig. Launching at Bloomingdale’s later next month, the debut collection will feature eight dinnerware patterns inspired by Marchesa’s glamorous frocks, complete with everything from lace detailing to delicate rose embellishments. Donning high-heeled boots and a gold brocade coat over black hot pants and a sexy white tank top, the bombshell looked more radiant than ever as. It’s going, going, gone! “Bout to get rid of the beard,” Chris Daughtry Tweeted earlier this morning before sharing photos of the step-by-step as he razored off weeks’ worth of a burgeoning lumberjack beard. The American Idol alum and Grammy-nominated Daughtry frontman, who famously announced on the show that he shaves his head because he’s balding, usually balances his cue-ball noggin with interesting facial hair–rocking everything from a petite goatee to this recent grizzly-man beard.
