Lily Allen Stocking Her Vintage Clothing Store From Her Closet

Courtesy of UK Elle

Fans of Lily Allen are in for a sartorial treat next month when the British singer launches her own clothing store – especially as some of the items are coming straight out of Allen’s personal closet. Chatting to UK Elle in its August issue, the stylish musician (who has already dabbled in jewelry design as well as modeling), said she’s excited to share her clothes, especially if the swap shop encourages a less throw-away shopping culture. “It’s not ethical to do that, so I’m quite happy to turn it into a business and see other people having enjoyment out of it,” she said of the store, called Lucy In Disguise. Debuting at the Vintage at Goodwood festival in August before officially opening at a London location in September, it’s exciting news indeed. But don’t expect to find any one-of-a-kind Chanel handbags on the rails, especially not in her reportedly broody state of mind. “When I’m buying expensive things I tend to think, ‘yep, that’s something timeless that I can give to my daughter.’” We can’t help think that’s going to be one very lucky little girl! The August issue of UK Elle is on newsstands now.–Monique Jessen

Ivanka Trump Debuts Her Fine Jewelry in the Hamptons

Courtesy Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry

The Hamptons is already as known for its glamorous lifestyle as Ivanka Trump is for her unbeatable combination of beauty and brains — so it was a natural match for London Jewelers to introduce her fine jewelry collection Thursday night at their East Hampton location. With a crowd of socialites and thrilled shoppers around her, the always-lovely Trump ruled the room in a J. Mendel dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and, of course, her own jewelry. She tells PEOPLE exclusively, “I characterize my jewelry collection as timeless and glamorous but always classic. I’ve added femininity and a modern twist to jewelry that resonates with both younger women and an older consumer.” And why branch out past her own Madison Avenue flagship boutique? “I am thrilled to be launching my fine jewelry collection at London Jewelers,” says Trump. “The London customer is aligned with my own target audience–a smart, sophisticated modern woman who appreciates quality and craftsmanship.” If you can’t make it to the Hamptons to shop her line, you can see more of her pieces at ivankatrumpcollection.com. –Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

Support US Troops with Old Navy’s Flag Tees

In honor of Independence Day, Old Navy is showing its patriotism — and giving a morale-boosting salute to U.S. troops. For every Old Navy Flag Tee ($5 each) purchased in-store between July 1 and July 5, the company will send a matching t-shirt to an active serviceman overseas. Available in men’s, women’s, children’s and baby styles, the stars-and-stripes-embellished 100% cotton jersey t-shirts are a great wearable reminder that the long weekend holiday is more than just clambakes and barbecues.

Solange Knowles’s Hair Order: ‘Give Me the Fro’

Al Powers/Retna

Call it inspired bedhead! “I wanted to get something that I could literally roll out of bed without looking nuts,” Solange Knowles tells Refinery29.com, of the motivation behind her latest hairdo. “I watched so many Chaka Khan YouTube videos and became sort of obsessed with her. I went to my stylist and said ‘Give me the fro.’” And while Solange is known for her head-turning style, the 24-year-old singer, who’s set to drop her third studio album this fall, is also easing up on a former beauty obsession–her nails. “I had British flag nails, ice cream cones, gold spikes…the whole nine yards. I still rock my nail art but with a little bit more simplicity now.” Don’t worry, though, this fashion chameleon isn’t ready to give up all of her indulgences, especially the ones on her feet: “I’m all about the shoes! I order a ton of them online and play with my entire wardrobe until I find the right shoe.” And the one item she’ll never part with? “A BCBG short, ruffled, floral, baby doll dress I’ve had since I was 16. I wore it at my wedding reception when I was 17. The waistline comes up to the middle of my boobs now, but I just can’t let go of it. It’s so perfect.”–Christie LaRusso

Calvin Klein Remakes the Little White Dress From ‘Clueless’

Everett

When Ilaria Urbinati, the co-owner of L.A. boutique Confederacy met with Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa about stocking Calvin Klein Collection, the stylist-turned-shopkeeper had one very specific request: Remake the little white dress from Clueless! “I sort of geeked out on him, [explaining] how my formative-years love of Calvin Klein was partly based on the little white minidress Alicia Silverstone wears in Clueless,” Urbanati told InStyle.com. “I re-eanacted the entire scene with Cher and her father—’Cher, what are you wearing?’ ‘A dress!’ ‘Says who?’ ‘Calvin Klein!’–and of course I said, ‘Francisco, you need to remake that dress!’” And he didn’t need much convincing. After watching a clip of the famous scene, the designer had the original pattern unearthed from the archives in Italy and re-created exclusively for Urbinati’s boutique, reports Instyle.com. The slim-fitting white slipdress—as well as a hot red version—are already available at shopconfederacy.com for $915! Though we might be saving up for awhile, we’re sure one of Confederacy’s star customers, such as Jessica Alba or Ashley Greene, may just scoop one up soon enough. Tell us: Will you splurge on the infamous little white Clueless dress? Andrea DeSimone
