Surf’s Up! Laird Hamilton Named Ambassador for Chanel’s New Dive Watch

Legendary surfer Laird Hamilton is riding the Chanel wave, assuming the role of ambassador for the luxe brand’s J12 Marine Watch, a diving watch that is part of Chanel’s J12 series. Designed after a professional deep-sea diving watch, the chic performance piece features readability in the dark, is waterproof to over 300 meters and boasts a matte rubber strap to allow water to flow through–perfect for a waterman like Laird. “This watch is authentic. I have put it through ‘the test’ and it has survived me,” Laird says in a release. In honor of the partnership, Chanel is supporting the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to protecting and enhancing the world’s oceans, waves and beaches.

Goodbye Pouf! Snooki Rocks New Red-Hot Tresses

It looks like The Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi won’t have to keep her famed hair pouf intact during any future hot tub escapades. The reality star traded in her signature do for newly-dyed red locks, which she debuted at last night’s Jersey Shore album release party in New York. The self-proclaimed guidette took to her Twitter before she hit the red carpet Tuesday to announce the news,Tweeting, “Listenin to the JS soundtrack at Senses salon! Yeaa baby launch party tonight, gonna be bangin w my new hair.” And while Snooki’s subtle upgrade will no doubt add some heat to The Jersey Shore‘s upcoming second season, we’re not sure if the new fiery look is here to stay. Madonna’s Material Girl Muse Revealed: Taylor Momsen!

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen can now add Material Girl to her resume. The fashionable young star has been chosen as the new face of the juniors clothing line that Madonna is designing with her teenage daughter, Lourdes. The announcement today comes on the heels of much buzz about the Material Girl collection, from recently-released sketches of the fashion line to behind-the-scenes teaser interviews with the pop icon about the inspiration behind the clothes as well as the collaborative design process with her daughter. Consisting of flirty minidresses, cute accessories, skinny jeans, and on-trend studded leather jackets, we have no doubt that Taylor’s rocker-chic style will be a fitting match for Material Girl, which is set to debut on August 3, exclusively at Macy’s and macys.com. We’re used to seeing January Jones as perfectly coiffed and red-lipped Betty Draper on Mad Men. But the former model definitely shook up her image at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala by pairing a dramatically sculpted updo with steely blue eye shadow, that went straight from her lashes into her eyebrows! The result? An otherworldly, runway-ready look. We think this was the perfect beauty mix for a night that was all about high fashion, but we aren’t so sure it would work at a less glam event. ‘The Hills’ Star Lo Bosworth Launches TheLoDown.com

The Hills may have come to an emotional close last night, but it’s a new beginning for Lo Bosworth, who yesterday launched her website thelodown.com. Meant to give advice on everything from fashion and beauty to relationships and fitness, Lo took to her Twitter account Tuesday to celebrate the new site, Tweeting, “It’s officially here! So, so excited to bring you the lodown.com, your new guide to the good life and everything in between!” Lo debuted her website complete with a live blog–even from her limo!– from The Hills aftershow last night. “The bumpy road proves my Vahan jewelry ad Daniel Swarovski clutch are both sparkly AND rhythmic,” she said. Known as one of the more drama-free cast members, the reality star has already proved her mettle dishing out onscreen relationship and fashion advice.
