She may not still be rocking her custom Monique Lhuiller gown, but there was no mistaking Carrie Underwood’s honeymoon glow as she hit the Today show stage Friday morning to not only perform hits like “Undo It” and “Cowboy Casanova”, but also flaunt her sparkling new wedding band. After tying the knot with hockey player Mike Fisher, 30, in a Southern style wedding earlier this month, Underwood has swapped a diamond band by jeweler Jonathon Arndt for the yellow diamond engagement ring he had also designed for her. So how’s married life treating the country queen? “It’s a lot like dating life,” she said, which includes continuing their long distance relationship with hockey player husband Fisher in Canada, where he plays for the Ottawa Senators. “It’s good,” she says. “We’re both very busy people and understand each other’s life, so we’re okay with it.” –– Alison Schwartz

They will make it work, I’ve seen both kinds of relationships. Ones that are long distance and some where the couple is stuck together like glue and the one common factor is that there is true love. It’s not about distance…it’s all about love! All you need is love! Sometimes being apart for awhile can be refreshing, hey it works for Tim and Faith. They were both touring and apart for months at a time and they still had time to start a family. Mike wont play hockey forever and when the time comes for them to start a family they will spend every waking minute with each other.

You can still have a good marriage even if your not together all the time. My husband is home 2 day’s per week. We have a very good marriage. Been together 15 years now. It’s how much you love one another and how you use the time when you are together. Evedently we are doing something right.. I think Carrie and Mike are going to do just fine.

Am I the only one who is so sick of this chick? Everywhere I turn, there she is. Who cares about her damn wedding and her stupid ring. Lots of people get married everyday. Yes, she is talented and her songs are great but enough already.

Mike really got himself a high maintenance gal. Good luck with that one buddy.

Carrie and Mike seem so happy! I think they will have a great marriage because they waited and found the right person. Carrie looked and sounded amazing on the Today Show. Loved her outfit. WTG, Carrie!!! Looking forward to your fall tour!

Hey Jean, keep your negativity to yourself. You are probably the one who goes to weddings just so you can voice your reservations when they ask that during the ceremony. Maybe you have been burned or something that has you feeling so negative, I don’t know nor do I care. However, these 2 seem genuinely happy and speaking from experience long distance relationships work just fine if you have the right people involved. These 2 seem secure enough to handle it. So Miss Negative Nancy, take your cynical relationship opinions somewhere else. Your comment was just uncalled for. Newlyweds deserve well wishes, not hopes for disaster. Geesh!
