She may not still be rocking her custom Monique Lhuiller gown, but there was no mistaking Carrie Underwood’s honeymoon glow as she hit the Today show stage Friday morning to not only perform hits like “Undo It” and “Cowboy Casanova”, but also flaunt her sparkling new wedding band. After tying the knot with hockey player Mike Fisher, 30, in a Southern style wedding earlier this month, Underwood has swapped a diamond band by jeweler Jonathon Arndt for the yellow diamond engagement ring he had also designed for her. So how’s married life treating the country queen? “It’s a lot like dating life,” she said, which includes continuing their long distance relationship with hockey player husband Fisher in Canada, where he plays for the Ottawa Senators. “It’s good,” she says. “We’re both very busy people and understand each other’s life, so we’re okay with it.” –– Alison Schwartz

it’s only difficult if you make it difficult, being apart from your husband doesn’t mean you can’t build a relationship together, obviously these two already have built a relationship thats why there was a wedding to begin with…and they see each other more then people think there private people so they hang in nashville or ottawa where the paparazzi don’t exist, they don’t go to “the Ivy” or hang in L.A. at all the hotspots…there lowkey people. i love that shes an independent woman and even though shes married she still does what is important to her, theres no need to be clingy and needy when she has her own things going on…i think long distance relationship are difficult but when you try you make it work and make it an effort to see each other….

I think Carrie and Mike make such a great couple. I wish them all the best.

Long distance relationships CAN last…ANY relationship can last if two people work hard enough on them and love each other enough for it to work. I mean sure, things happen and that isn’t always the case, but just because there’s distance doesn’t mean they aren’t going to last. I hope they have a long happy life together.

in response to susiq, a southern style wedding is usually very elegant, traditional, charming, down-home with strong family touches. it is a lot of things mixed together that make is special to the south.
