Lindsay Lohan’s Hair Extensions: Tangled Up In Jail Rules

Al Seib/Landov

With jailhouse rumblings that Lindsay Lohan is getting special treatment behind bars, authorities want to set the record straight about one thing: The star got to keep her lanky hair extensions only because they were too hard to remove. According to the Los Angeles Times, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said that most inmates at the Century Regional Detention Facility will have their extensions removed upon entering–but only if the fake locks are actually detachable. Lohan’s, he said, are bonded to her hair, sewn too close to the scalp to remove. Lohan, 24, has been jailed at the women’s facility in Lynwood, Calif., since July 20 for a 90-day sentence for violating probation in a DUI case. Her term is being reduced due to overcrowding and she has less than a week left behind bars. –Sara Hammel

Unbelievable. Someone needs to clean house in LA county jail staff. Its a joke!

So my question is… is anyone else being let out early due to ‘over crowding’? Probably not.

- Manda on

Totally agree Dawn.

It sounds like they need another jail. They are always crying about overcrowding, so petty offenders know they will serve almost no time. Prisoners get transferred all the time, they can’t send them to other jails and actually have people serve their full terms?

SO WHAT’S THE REASON SHE’S BEING RELEASED? OH THATS RIGHT SHE A STAR… BUT HONESTLY THERE’S NO RUSH FOR HER TO COME HOME, NOT LIKE SHE HAS HUNDEREDS OF MOVIES LINED UP TO FILM. LINDSEY NEEDS TO TAKE HER TIME AND GET HER LIFE BACK ON TRACK.. SHE’S TOO YOUNG AND TOO FRAGILE TOBE RELEASED..

Shave her damn head. That is what they would do to a non celebrity!!

- Amanda on

how can it be over crowded if she isn’t even with the general population???

- ria on

Why couldnt they shave her head like any other person that had come in with them.

It does’nt take two weeks to remove hair extensions. Is’nt that how much time they gave her before she new she was going to jail? And I am sure her attorney (whichever one that was) told her the do’s and don’ts of jail. What a joke.

Yeah, that is special treatment.

If she knew prior to jail that they’d have to be removed, she should have gone to a salon. I just had mine removed from a salon in LA; costs $100 and takes 30 minutes.
