EXCLUSIVE: Kendall Jenner Responds to Critics of Her Bikini Pics

Her recent Malibu photo shoot had her proud older sisters blogging her praise — and got critics buzzing, as well. Now, 14-year-old Kendall Jenner tells PEOPLE how the beach shoot came to be — and why she’s excited to be a model. “I am excited to be working as a model, doing what I love to do.” The Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star says her family is on board with her decision to model. “My entire family was very supportive, though my dad [Bruce Jenner] was a bit concerned at first, he knows that I am responsible enough that I wouldn’t do anything I wasn’t ready to do, or didn’t want to do.” Kendall may be inspired by supermodels like Cindy Crawford and Gisele, but she’s not looking to grow up too fast either. “Going into this shoot, it was never my intention to be provocative or too racy. It was a beach shoot, and I was wearing beachwear. I am happy with my age, and am not trying to rush into anything too soon. I look forward to all the milestones my teens have to offer–Sweet 16, turning 18, and so on.” Luc Brinker, Kendall’s agent from famed modeling agency Wilhelmina affirms that the budding catwalker is on the right path, telling PEOPLE, “Kendall exudes such a high level of confidence and know how for her age. I’m sure that it comes from having such a great family that gives her endless support and is constantly encouraging her to shine. I’m sorry but she is 14! Be a kid. She looks easily 20 something in the pic. Yes she is beautiful and great if she has her priorities in order and is confident in herself…blah blah. But reality is that she is a kid and should enjoy her childhood while it lasts. She has all her adult years and career ahead of her. Either way she is wearing teeni bikini bottoms and guys are still going to look at her in ‘that’ way. Be a model but how about age appropriate modeling?

Yes she is stunning and beautiful! She is 14 and looks way beyond that however. Where as this picture shows her just sitting on the beach some of the other shots that have shown up from this same shoot are more provocative. Good for her for following her dreams, but I think mom and dad should take a second look and have a little more say in what she models at such a young age. Sitting on a rock….ok for a 14 year old, rolling around in the sand with her boobs pushed together in a bikini top…not so much!

I dont think she’s growing up too fast at all. What do you think she’s going to wear to the beach, jeans and a t-shirt? She’s 14 and a gorgeous young lady. Is it a crime? She didnt pose for playboy people!

She is by far the most beautiful and intelligent one of them all. i just pray her dad keeps on her and that she stays a kid, enjoys herself,gets educated and NEVER EVER do a sex tape.

kendall, you are absolutely gorgeous doll!!!!!!!!!!! You resemble your youngest older sister, Khloe and if people have EVER paid ANY attention, Khloe is like mother hen to you and Kylie so that should let people know right there that you know what you are doing. I seriously wish you the best luck in ALL the world.

I don’t think she should be doing this, either, and it has nothing to do with jealousy. Kendall is a beautiful girl – all the Kardashian sisters are. But there are 2 ways a girl can come across posing in a bathing suit like this – “here it is” or “come and get it.” There is absolutely nothing wrong with “here it is” but you don’t have to to be a rocket scientist to figure out what kind of message is sent with “come and get it.” Some of the shots were okay but in others you can see that she doesn’t have the emotional maturity to carry off the shot and it comes across as far more daring than a girl her age should exude or that she may have meant to do. If you looked at this picture and didn’t know the model was 14 you wouldnt’ know and that shouldn’t be that way.

She looks great, but why not let her be a
kid before she gets overly exploited as a
model at 14. If she were my kid, she’d have to wait a few more years, but she’d have to do some research research on that industry first.
