Her recent Malibu photo shoot had her proud older sisters blogging her praise — and got critics buzzing, as well. Now, 14-year-old Kendall Jenner tells PEOPLE how the beach shoot came to be — and why she’s excited to be a model. “I am excited to be working as a model, doing what I love to do.” The Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star says her family is on board with her decision to model. “My entire family was very supportive, though my dad [Bruce Jenner] was a bit concerned at first, he knows that I am responsible enough that I wouldn’t do anything I wasn’t ready to do, or didn’t want to do.” Kendall may be inspired by supermodels like Cindy Crawford and Gisele, but she’s not looking to grow up too fast either. “Going into this shoot, it was never my intention to be provocative or too racy. It was a beach shoot, and I was wearing beachwear. I am happy with my age, and am not trying to rush into anything too soon. I look forward to all the milestones my teens have to offer–Sweet 16, turning 18, and so on.” Luc Brinker, Kendall’s agent from famed modeling agency Wilhelmina affirms that the budding catwalker is on the right path, telling PEOPLE, “Kendall exudes such a high level of confidence and know how for her age. I’m sure that it comes from having such a great family that gives her endless support and is constantly encouraging her to shine. I think it’s the most important thing that a young models can have.” –Jessie Goldberg; Reporting by Michelle Tan

Many posters here are asking why she couldn’t wait until she was 18 to start modeling. That is considered old in the biz. Most girls start at 12, 13. That is the simple truth. Most models are out of the biz by their early 20s so they have to start young to build up their books & start to get jobs.

These pix were done for her portfolio. Models have to include ALL kinds of pix in their books. Clients need to see what their bodies look like, they need to see them in very glam shots & well as natural shots. They need to do close-up “beauty” shots….the product they are selling is their face/body. Clients need to see it in many different ways so they can decide if the model is right for the job.

Plain & Simple. It’s a nutty bix but that is the way it works.

Since when did looking like Khloe become a good thing, remember, Khloe is the pig of the family. I wonder how many friends of the family wrote their comments in this time. I think the first round of comments was much more authenitic. Kris Jenner is a snake that would sell her kids to the devil for the right price. – Wait she already has. Kris, how much of Bruce’s money have you stolen without his knowledge?

I just hope you doesn’t over expose herself like her sister Kim and Koutney have-Khloe has not and keeps a rather low profile which is nice-And I hope she realizes that there is more to life than exposing boobs or backsides all the time

OMG I think she is beautiful and as for this picture she is not showing too much skin or acting provocative. What other field do you really think she would go into but something like modeling with her “Looks” and coming from that famous family?? Really?

I think it’s time the Kardashians go away. What What the world needs now is a family that can bring something positive to the table. I mean look how messed up Kourtney is – she needs serious help. With a monster of a mother, it’s no wonder these girls have no real sense of self-worth. And self-worth does not mean how much money you have. These girls have foul mouths, bad relationships and no sense of right or wrong. The show has lost its appeal, now its just space filled with bad acting and even worse antics.

If you’d seen the full set of beach shots, you’d understand the uproar. She has some very provacative shots with two that have the bikini top barely containing her nipple. I don’t think she’s living the life of a 14 year old at all!
