Georgina Chapman Launches Marchesa China Collection with Famous Friends

Already known for its coveted red carpet gowns and one-of-a-kind dresses, Marchesa is now taking couture to an entirely new place — your dinner table! The glamorous brand is launching a chic china collection with renowned tabletop brand Lenox, so how better to celebrate than with a chic cocktail party? Marchesa co-founder Georgina Chapman gathered friends like Kerry Washington to N.Y.C.’s Hudson Hotel to celebrate the partnership last week with yummy finger food and signature cocktails. “The Hudson Hotel penthouse was the perfect backdrop for our summer gathering to launch the Marchesa by Lenox collection. The space was amazing,” said the pregnant designer, who co-founded the brand with fellow Brit Keren Craig. Launching at Bloomingdale’s later next month, the debut collection will feature eight dinnerware patterns inspired by Marchesa’s glamorous frocks, complete with everything from lace detailing to delicate rose embellishments. And while Marchesa’s gowns can cost an arm and a leg, their couture tabletop collection is far more affordable, starting at $150 for its five-piece “Porcelain Lace” setting. –Jessie Goldberg
