Uh-Oh! The Lowdown on Britney Spears's Bad Hair Day

Talk about a bad hair day! Britney Spears was snapped shopping in Sherman Oaks, California, Wednesday with a messy, extension baring look that set the internet abuzz with fans speculating about exactly what was happening to her scalp. Was she going bald? Were her extensions done incorrectly? We checked in with hairstylist-to-the stars Ken Paves–who has his own line of extensions that he uses on clients like Eva Longoria Parker and Jessica Simpson–to learn the truth. “It’s not that big of a deal actually, we have all seen this before. A case of bed head, who hasn’t had it?,” Paves tells PEOPLE. “The truth is that this is exactly how these extensions are applied, however we are not supposed to see them, that’s all. There are thousands and thousands of women walking around whose hair looks just like that ‘underneath’. The remedy is simply to cover it up. It’s not a case of bad extensions, just a bad hair day!” His recommendation? “I am more concerned with the friend walking behind her who didn’t tell her right away! Ladies, support your sisters and stay on weave patrol, your day may come too! Help a sister out!” Tell us: Would you tell a friend if her extensions were showing? Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester

I personally don’t understand the whole extension craze. Why in the world would you want this attached to your hair when all it does is damage it so severly. Other than that, I hope poor Brit gave that girl a good talking to about what a good friend should be. Good Lord.

Oh, haha, thats just LOVELY. Cant she afford a better weave?? but nah, seriously brit, let your hair grow out naturally for now. Like Wendy williams said on her show: “Just wear a wig for now”.

People must want to see her fail over and over again. She is clearly around people, why wouldn’t they say anything? Friends do not let other friends have horrific pictures of them taken like that! shame on whoever she calls a “friend”. I feel horrible for her, but enough is enough. Your famous Britney ACT like it. People are going to want to see you fail, show them up. Do it for you though make yourself feel good, have some pride, and please don’t totally let yourself go.

I think she did that on purpose just to get attention

like who is that girl walking right behind her staring at the back of Britneys balded head? SHAME ON HER

I’m not a fan, but to say that she has “no career anymore”? She just finished a round-the-world tour that sold a gazillion tickets in support of her album that sold a gazillion copies. She may be loopy, but I think we’d all like to have a career like that.

Britney, there are things called hats..

She probably had her up in a bun and in the course of trying on clothes, took it down. I AM surprised that the person behind her didn’t say something, if that’s true. I would be inclined to tell a total stranger if her weave was showing like that!

I’m sorry but my bedhead has never looked like this. How can a person who makes millions look so tragic? Someone get this girl a stylist!
