The Scoop on Chelsea Clinton’s Wedding Gown — And What Bill and Hillary Wore

de Manio Photography

The months of speculation on whom Chelsea Clinton would choose to design her wedding dress are finally over — and it’s Vera Wang! The bride walked down the aisle on Saturday night in a strapless silk organza gown with a draped tulle bodice and an embellished belt designed by Wang, a Clinton family friend. The star-loved designer, a guest at the wedding in Rhinebeck, N.Y. this weekend, describes the bride as having “radiated joy, youth and happiness.” Wang also designed the bridesmaids’ dresses. Another good friend of the couples’, Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, designed groom Marc Mezvinsky’s tuxedo as well as ties for the groomsmen and the father of the bride, former President Bill Clinton. As for the mother of the bride, who was the picture of glamour at the previous night’s rehearsal dinner, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton chose a gown designed by her go-to designer and long-time friend Oscar de la Renta. –Melissa Liebling-Goldberg; reporting by Sharon Cotliar

Hillary Clinton Goes Glam for Daughter Chelsea’s Rehearsal Dinner

Gone are her famous iconic headbands and matching primary color pantsuits, and in their place, a glamorous printed caftan. Hillary Clinton, is that really you? The Secretary of State turned up the style quotient on Friday night as she left her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s rehearsal dinner at the Beekman Arms Inn on Rhinebeck in a flowing turquoise dress with a low V-neck paired with a radiant smile. An onlooker even commented, “Hillary looks gorgeous! Her dress is so chic! She’s definitely not a dowdy mother of the bride.” And father of the bride Bill Clinton got kudos as well, earning praise from another onlooker, “They look so happy, just like parents of the bride, not a former President and the current Secretary of State.” So are we guessing that her modesty issues of the past are gone now? We’ll have to wait and see what she wears to the big event tonight, but all bets are on a dress from her go-to designer of years, the always-elegant Oscar de la Renta. –reporting by Mary Park

Patti Hansen Is On a Mission to Make Fanny Packs Sexy (Really!)

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

When eternally gorgeous supermodel–and wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards–Patti Hansen saw her model daughters Alexandra and Theodora rummaging through her closest and grabbing for her hands-free bags from her Studio 54 days, she decided to launch a bag line. The result? Hung on U, a versatile line of unisex bags that come in nylon, denim, glitter, suede and pony, that are co-designed with partners Molly Madden and Debi Koppel. “For me, it really is the replacement of the fanny pack,” Hansen told PEOPLE at the Martini & Rossi Launch party in New York City on July 30. “I can ride my bike with it and take it anywhere with me. It sort of disappears.” Daughter Theodora, 25, agrees. “This is exactly what I would use,” she says. “You want your hands to be free so this is the ideal bag for me. I’ll wear it grocery shopping, to the beach or restaurants and bars. It’s so easy to wear.” And Hansen’s husband is also a huge fan. “He has his own bag and never leaves the house without it,” says Theodora. “He definitely rocks it out.” And the chic bags don’t come with a rock stars-only price, with prices starting around $35, with the company donating to a cancer charity for children to carry on the fight against cancer. Shakira Debuts Her ‘Personal and Unique’ Fragrance

Courtesy Puig

Get ready to unleash your inner She Wolf! Shakira, the newest addition to Hollywood’s roster of celebrity perfumers, has bottled her famous sex appeal for her new fragrance, S by Shakira. “The type of women who feel a connection with this fragrance would be independent and strong, but also a woman with a great capacity to love and a strong sense of who they are. It’s for a woman who believes in herself,” Shakira says. The Grammy Award winner has collaborated with Puig to explore her delicate side with a scent that exudes simplicity, sensuality and self. The fragrance’s signature notes are bright jasmine, sandalwood and an oriental dream housed in a luminous bottle that evokes an oriental dancer. “Like one of my songs, I wanted S by Shakira to tell a story, and to be something personal and unique. A perfume has to really reflect something inside you, make you connect with it in an emotional way,” the singer muses. S by Shakira will hit shelves in September, with prices ranging from $17 to $35. But from the sound of it, Shakira is looking for a cadre of hit scents to join her platinum records, exclaiming “S by Shakira is only the beginning! There is definitely more to come!” – Jessie Goldberg

Matt LeBlanc Admits to Dyeing His Prematurely Gray Hair Dark for ‘Friends’

Matt Sayles/AP

Matt LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbiani may have been the picture of perennial boyishness on Friends, but it turns out that that his youthful demeanor belied his secretly graying hair. “I dyed my hair the whole time I was on Friends,” LeBlanc admitted this week after a TCA panel about his new Showtime series Episodes. He also explained his absence from television since the 2006 demise of his spinoff sitcom Joey, “So when Joey ended, I took a lot of time off. I just wanted to be a dad, be myself, hang out with my daughter.” For his new show, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself, the actor is putting his salt-and-pepper locks on display, so let the gray times roll!
