Alexander McQueen’s Ashes Buried in Scotland

Eyevine/Zuma

While the fashion world will continue to mourn the gaping hole of raw talent left by Alexander McQueen‘s death, the British designer’s family has taken another step toward closure. WWD reports today that the ashes of the visionary couturier were buried at Kilmuir, a picturesque locale on Scotland’s Isle of Skye on May 29. In a statement to WWD, his family noted that it was McQueen’s final request to be buried at Kilmuir, and said, referring to the designer by his full name, Lee Alexander McQueen, “Lee cherished the times that he was able to spend on the Isle of Skye — he enjoyed the beauty, peace and tranquility.”

Miley Cyrus’s Stylist Dishes on Her Racy ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ Album Cover

Brian Bowen Smith

Miley Cyrus debuted her sexier side last month in the steamy music video for “Can’t Be Tamed” and now, with the release of her album Monday, she is officially making the move from teen queen to rock star. So what’s the inspiration for the new look? “Miley’s style is a natural progression of her growing up and being influenced by the music that inspires her,” the singer’s stylist, Simone Harouche, tells PEOPLE, citing rock legends Joan Jett and Blondie. “The album cover was basically a strong statement saying in the most simple way, that she can’t be tamed–literally and metaphorically,” explains Harouche. To achieve Miley’s rebellious new look, Harouche turned to designer denim brand, Robins Jeans. “[Miley] is really into leather,” says Harouche. “Robins Jeans leather jacket is such a cool staple piece: It’s embellished without being overly done and the fit is amazing. It’s the perfect example of rock ’n’ roll clothing.” Pairing the studded jacket with a laced-up crop top and low-rise leather leggings from the brand, Miley looks every bit the good girl-gone-bad.Tell us: What are your thoughts on Miley’s tough new image?Andrea DeSimone

Dolce & Gabbana Toasts 20 Years of Menswear–With Some Famous Friends

Venturelli/WireImage

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana clearly know how to throw a festa. The venerable Italian design duo hosted a star-studded affair at Milan’s Piazza della Scala Saturday, complete with a multimedia exhibition, fashion show and gala–and of course, a slew of A-list guests, all chicly dressed in head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana. Starry couple Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves were doubly glam at the Anniversary exhibition Saturday, where McConaughey donned a classic black tuxedo and Alves sparkled in a white chiffon babydoll dress with crystal details and sequin pumps. Among the high-wattage party goers manning the front row of the Men’s 2011 Spring/Summer runway show, were Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz, who looked lovely in a tulle strapless cocktail dress with a sweetheart neckline and ankle-strap heels, and Gossip Girl star Chase Crawford, who looked dapper in a khaki two-button suit with a black tie. Happy anniversary, indeed. For more on Dolce & Gabbana’s men’s collection, visit dolcegabbana.com.

A Royal Affair: Princess Victoria’s Wedding Weekend Style

WireImage, Rex, JPI

While many girls dream about looking like royalty on their wedding day, Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria, who married her beau Daniel Westling in Stockholm on Saturday, embodied the fantasy, donning three equally stunning looks during the weekend-long celebration. The princess kicked off the wedding reception Friday with the first of two custom Elie Saab Couture looks–a high-necked, cap-sleeve pale-pink cocktail dress embellished with a spray of appliqué clusters, which she paired with flirty gold pumps. Later that evening at a concert gala, she literally dazzled in her second Elie Saab creation–a sweeping, hand-embroidered asymmetrical nude gown adorned with delicate pearls and floral appliqués. Finally, for her wedding at Stockholm Cathedral, the elegant brunette looked fittingly regal, dressed in a custom-made ivory silk off-the-shoulder gown by Swedish designer Par Engsheden, according to InStyle.com, and custom Roger Vivier silk satin pumps with rhinestone buckles. For a finishing touch, the princess topped off the elegant look with the ultimate fairy-tale princess accessory: A towering cameo-bedecked tiara worn by her mother to her 1976 wedding.–Marissa Patlingrao Cooley

Kellan Lutz Goes to the Dark Side: Love It or Hate It?

George Pimentel/WireImage

Kellan Lutz is already tall and handsome, but it looks like the Twilight star is now adding dark to the list of his winning attributes. The hard-bodied 25-year-old was snapped sporting new raven-colored tresses in Toronto this weekend, where he attended the MuchMusic Video Awards. While the actor has gone dark before–most noticeably for his role as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight series–the douse of chestnut brown marks a sudden departure from his formerly platinum hair, which he sports in his sexy Calvin Klein underwear ads. But whatever style the actor rocks, we’re sure he’ll do just fine–who notices his hair when he’s shirtless anyway? Tell us: Do you like Kellan Lutz’s new brown hair or did you prefer him as a blond? Miley Cyrus’s Dramatic New Do: Love It Or Hate It?

George Pimentel/WireImage

It looks like Miley Cyrus is shedding more than just her wholesome Hannah Montana image — now the starlet is shedding her long hair as well. After spending a marathon nine hours at Gemini 14 salon in Manhattan last week, the 17-year-old star was snapped Sunday at the 21st annual MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto with a whole new look. Gone were her youthful waist-length extensions, replaced by a mature to-the-collarbone length, as well as fresh highlights and lowlights. “She was going for a more mature look,” revealed Gemini 14 colorist Vickie Vidov, who has worked with Miley for the last year. “Her hair is shorter and the color was amped up—she has new brown and blonde shades mixed in,” she told PEOPLE. Gemini 14 hair extensions expert Kristina Barricelli, who spoke to PEOPLE at The Salon’s benefit Thursday for Reach Out and Read – a charity that supplies books to kids in need, added: “Miley is really maturing. She’s becoming more of a woman. She wants people to respect the artistry. She doesn’t want to hear negative talk. And she’s in the driver seat with her hair.” Tell us: What do you think of Miley’s new look? –Liz McNeil and Jeffrey Slonim
