SNEAK PEEK: Madonna and Lourdes’s Material Girl Line for Macy’s

With summer in full swing, it’s tough to imagine but back-to-school shopping will be here sooner than we think. Happily, Madonna is giving us something to look forward to with Material Girl, the junior’s collection that the mega-star is designing with her 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon (a.k.a. Lola). The just-released sketches of the fall 2010 collection, which is set to debut on August 3, definitely got us excited for the adorable mix of flirty minidresses, cute accessories, skinny jeans, and on-trend jackets, which will retail for an affordable $12 to $40 exclusively at Macy’s and macys.com. ok all those saying this is just the eighties all over again…just remember, what goes around comes around. Bell bottom jeans were big in the 70′s and made a comeback in the 90′, platform shoes, too. many are too old to remember hot Jimmy Dean in white tee and jeansin the fifties, and when done right the look is not now. long straight hair was big in the sixties, once again popular. the thing is, there are only so many ‘new’ things one can do to clothe the human body. the key is can you put a unique spin on an old fad? that remains to be seen until the entire collection comes out. Just don’t bring back the 80′s big hair, and will someone convince men that baggy jeans never have and never will be sexy
