Miley Cyrus’s Stylist Dishes on Her Racy ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ Album Cover

Miley Cyrus debuted her sexier side last month in the steamy music video for “Can’t Be Tamed” and now, with the release of her album Monday, she is officially making the move from teen queen to rock star. So what’s the inspiration for the new look? “Miley’s style is a natural progression of her growing up and being influenced by the music that inspires her,” the singer’s stylist, Simone Harouche, tells PEOPLE, citing rock legends Joan Jett and Blondie. “The album cover was basically a strong statement saying in the most simple way, that she can’t be tamed–literally and metaphorically,” explains Harouche. To achieve Miley’s rebellious new look, Harouche turned to designer denim brand, Robins Jeans. “[Miley] is really into leather,” says Harouche. “Robins Jeans leather jacket is such a cool staple piece: It’s embellished without being overly done and the fit is amazing. It’s the perfect example of rock ’n’ roll clothing.” Pairing the studded jacket with a laced-up crop top and low-rise leather leggings from the brand, Miley looks every bit the good girl-gone-bad.Tell us: What are your thoughts on Miley’s tough new image?Andrea DeSimone

Can’t girl stars be original, why, why why do they have to be marketed to be overly sexual! Okay so she looks like Brittany and Lindsey, yawn, yawn. I am just under-impressed so girls..be original!

Her signing sucks (she has no talent whatsoever) and her new image thing is annoying – she actually looks dirty. Not a good thing she has going on !

this looks exactly like a britney spears cover

What’s really sad is that she began her career as a role-model for young girls. Not trying to excuse other stars, but there are other young female artists that didn’t begin as a Disney Channel princess. Miley Cyrus is just trying too hard, and it’s really sad. She can’t even sing anyway!

I think she looks gorgeous. I’m loving her outfit. I don’t understand y people are judging her just cuz she’s growing up. Kids have to grow up one day right?! They can’t just be wearing the same kind of clothes. People are just jealous of her

So ten years ago! Poor girl, she has no clue!

Oh my God, you people crack me up….The girl looks every bit the rock star. She looks good. I dont think shes heading down the wrong path, if anything shes pretty much on the right one. Billy Ray raised this girl with morals, if you take the time to listen to her interviews, she really isnt as bad as you all are making her out to be. She is simply making a statement and I for one will buy the album. You are awesome Miley.

People really amaze me….what is the difference? O.k. if you don’t agree with her just choose not to watch, listen, look or whatever. If it bothers you sooo much then just look away,,,oh my god,,,shut up and go on about your business. Is this sooo bad that you loose sleep at night? She has grown up, nuff said.

… not fair. This outfit is very cool, and I don’t think it copies anyone, I think it’s just her idea of Rocker Chick. (Which, maybe she doesn’t really fit into that role, but clearly, she wants to try) Can you really not remember what 17 was like??? You’re not in your “childhood” anymore at that age… all 17 year old girls are trying to rush to be “grown up”… Miley’s just in the spotlight and has access to cooler stuff… If she were still rockin’ the barbie pink outfits and such like Hannah Montana at 17 I would think THAT was odd/inappropriate… She is in SHOW BUSINESS (and for the record, I am not even a fan of hers… I just think the condemning and critical posts are ridiculous)

If that’s racy, then what are Christina’s “Stripped” or Britney’s “Greatest Hits”? Heck, Dirrty and Slave 4 U were way raunchier videos than Can’t Be Tamed! Give the girl a break
