Isabella Blow’s McQueen Collection Up for Auction

Richard Young/Rex USA

While Alexander McQueen‘s passing may have meant the end of one of fashion’s great geniuses, his work will continue to be celebrated this fall when British auction house Christie’s London puts 90 of his designs from the collection of the late Isabella Blow on the block. The famed stylist, who was not only McQueen’s muse but also one of his closest friends, passed away in 2007, leaving behind one of the greatest collections of the British designer’s work, making the auction as much as retrospective as a sale. The September 15 auction, which Christie’s referred to as “landmark” in a statement, will also place 50 Philip Treacy hats and an array of her Manolo Blahnik shoes on the block. Michelle Williams Catches Pixie-Cut Fever: Love It Or Hate It?

Sean Gallup/Getty

It looks like Hollywood has a case of pixie cut fever: Joining Jessica Stroup, Renée Zellweger, and Hayden Panettiere, Michelle Williams is the latest star to go super short for summer. The actress, who’s currently at Cannes promoting her film Blue Valentine, showed off a freshly cropped, platinum pixie with long side-swept bangs at the French film festival today. Though she’s no stranger to short hair, having famously chopped her locks into a dramatic Mia Farrow-esque do in 2007, the 29-year-old’s new lighter, brighter neck-baring style is a marked change from the honey-colored, collarbone-grazing waves that she’s been sporting recently. The indie film darling is reportedly in talks to play Marilyn Monroe–could her new color be a nod to the iconic blonde bombshell? Tell us: What do you think of Michelle’s new bleach-blonde pixie cut? –Marissa Patlingrao Cooley

‘American Idol’ Stylist on Crystal Bowersox’s Reluctant Style Evolution

Michael Becker/FOX/PictureGroup

Crystal Bowersox has come a long way since leaving Ohio for Hollywood–and we aren’t just talking about her rising star power. With a little fashion encouragement from American Idol resident stylist Soyon An, the young star (and only female left in the Top Three) has undergone a bit of a makeover since hitting the show–just don’t tell Crystal that. “She was like, ‘I’m not going to change for the show, everyone thinks I’m going to get an image makeover or whatever, but I’m not changing for the show,’” says An of her first meeting with Crystal.  But after a bit of a nudge, Crystal acquiesced and allowed An to tweak her style.  ”I want to enhance it, tailor it, refine it,” An recalls telling Crystal, who slowly started to open up about what she liked.  ”She would tell me little stories about when she was a little kid and played dress up, and I was like, ‘Maybe this is your little moment of coming out of the fashion closet and letting people see the real Crystal.’” And according to An, the real Crystal “really wants to wear that dress and heels sometimes.” Now, three months after their first meeting, An says Crystal has found her star style. “I think she’s bohemian rock,” says An. With just a few shows left, we can’t wait to see what Crystal tries out next. Tell us: What do you think of Crystal’s evolving style?Andrea DeSimone

Matthew Morrison Doesn’t Get the ‘Glee’ Over His Curls

Amanda Schwab/Startraks

Move over Robert Pattinson, Glee’s Matthew Morrison is moving in on your hairy territory. “It’s become a talked-about issue which is crazy!” Morrison told PEOPLE about the hair raising phenomenon of fans lusting after his luscious curls at the 69th Annual Peabody Awards in New York City on Monday. “Fans will come up to me and compliment my hair and all my friends are like, ‘When did this even happen? Your hair has become this crazy thing.’” Morrison, 31, who plays Will Schuester on the hit FOX series, is even teased in character for his natural curly locks by Jane Lynch’s cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, but says it takes a lot of hard work and hours in front of the mirror to meticulously style his curly coif. “I use all natural berries and juices — that’s the secret” he jokes. “And it’s all about the ultra perm. It’s the good stuff to rock out this hair.” Joking aside, Morrison says he doesn’t really spend too much time on his hair and simply uses a little gel to maintain his curls, which he inherited from his mom. “She has beautiful curly hair and it’s all because of her. Just one of the many reasons why I need to thank her.” –Paul Chi

EXCLUSIVE: The Inside Scoop on Lady Gaga’s Covered-Up Calvin Klein

Ray Tamarra/Everett; Kevin Kane/WireImage

Ever the head-turner, Lady Gaga has managed to shock us yet again–this time by being totally covered up! Gaga turned to Calvin Klein Collection creative director Francisco Costa for two custom looks for last week’s RainForest Fund‘s 21st Birthday Benefit Concert. “For both dresses, I took inspiration from the protective yet delicate shape of a silk cocoon,” Costa tells PEOPLE exclusively. In contrast to her recent barely-there American Idol and Met Gala catsuits, the pop star turned up to the benefit in a high-necked, long-sleeved black dress with nary a glimpse of skin in sight. “We paired a needle-punched silk with a handmade corset to create a cocoon-like silhouette with a lot of volume and texture,” explained Costa of his lacey creation. “It was important for this look to exude power and dominance, but with an edge.” When it came time to take the stage alongside Elton John, Shirley Bassey and Sting, Gaga slipped into a sculptural white tulle-shell bustier number, “which definitely had bondage references, but still retained an almost mystical air of lightness to it,” noted Costa, who was thrilled to create Gaga’s latest fashion statement. “I respect her originality and risk-taking with her music and personal style.” We couldn’t have said it better, Mr. Costa. Tell us: What do you think of Gaga’s new look?

Has Robert Pattinson Buzzed Off His Long Locks?

Flynet

Not even a week after his appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show with his legendary sexy tousled locks still firmly in place, Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson was spotted hiding what looks to be a new buzz cut under a baseball cap while out and about  in Los Angeles this weekend. While it’s difficult to see his entire head without x-ray vision, it appears that the British actor has at least shaved the sides of his hair into a close crop. Could it be that our favorite Hollywood vampire has given up his bed head for a more tamed look? Will this new cut be like garlic to his legions of Twihard fans? If it’s anything like Adrian Grenier’s new do, we won’t be too upset (we think)! Tell us: What do you think of Robert Pattinson’s new hair cut? Will he still hold his appeal with a buzz cut?
