Isabella Blow’s McQueen Collection Up for Auction
Richard Young/Rex USA
While Alexander McQueen‘s passing may have meant the end of one of fashion’s great geniuses, his work will continue to be celebrated this fall when British auction house Christie’s London puts 90 of his designs from the collection of the late Isabella Blow on the block. The famed stylist, who was not only McQueen’s muse but also one of his closest friends, passed away in 2007, leaving behind one of the greatest collections of the British designer’s work, making the auction as much as retrospective as a sale. The September 15 auction, which Christie’s referred to as “landmark” in a statement, will also place 50 Philip Treacy hats and an array of her Manolo Blahnik shoes on the block.
