EXCLUSIVE: ‘Lauren Conrad Style’ Cover Revealed

Courtesy Harper Collins

We were thrilled when we first heard back in November that Lauren Conrad would be writing a style book, and we weren’t the only ones that wanted her fashion feedback. Conrad tells PEOPLE exclusively that her new tome was, in fact, inspired by all of her fans. “The first book tour I went on, I had the opportunity to meet thousands and thousands of fans. The majority of the questions were about fashion,” explains Conrad. “It was fun to share all the things I had learned.” So what will you see in Lauren Conrad Style? Besides tons of never-before-seen photos and relatable advice from Conrad herself along with her glam squad, expect “personal stories, live and learn stories,” and yes, even “a couple of high school horror stories.” While Conrad does find wearing cocktail dresses on the red carpet easier than dressing for everyday life, she devotes chapters to every occasion, even deciphering dress codes like the dreaded business casual. Her must-tip: don’t be afraid to take your pieces to a tailor to achieve your perfect fit. “Most of the things I buy are tailored,” she dishes, emphasizing the importance of finding your best fit instead of just following trends. Lauren Conrad Style will hit bookshelves on October 5, 2010, the same date as her third novel Sugar & Spice. Find out more about Lauren’s books at harperteen.com. –Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

Johnny Weir Debuts New ‘Pink Mullet’ On Twitter

Courtesy Johnny Weir

Looks like it’s business in the front and party in the back for Olympic ice skater Johnny Weir. The ever-experimental skater, who already got blinged-out on the red carpet last month with his bedazzled headband, is taking it one step further by splashing a little fuchsia into his hair while carving it into a daring, feathered mullet! “Pink Mullet! I twitter pictured!” he enthusiastically posted on his Twitter page today. With his dark locks tousled into layers with Elvis-like sideburns, the new look certainly makes a statement. While it’s definitely not surprising coming from this future apparel designer, we can’t help but wonder what this Olympian will try next. Tell us: What do you think of Johnny Weir’s new hair style?David Yi

Sarah Jessica Parker’s a Fuchsia Fanatic!

Splash News Online; Ramey; INF

If the Cosmo was the signature drink of Sex and the City and Manolo Blahnik the trademark shoe, then the super-girly shade of bubblegum-pink could be considered the movie’s unofficial color. So with the May 27 premiere of Sex and the City 2 just around the corner, it comes as no real surprise that Sarah Jessica Parker seems to have slipped back into character and adopted the hot pink shade as her own must-have hue. The often-photographed fashion plate–who, despite alter ego Carrie Bradshaw’s theatrical, Technicolor outfits, often favors neutrals and casual jeans–has been spotted leaning on pink accents. From a top-handle tote or plush scarf to a cropped cardigan or peep-toe shoe, SJP is all about adding a splash of signature color to otherwise monochromatic outfits. Tell us: How do you feel about accessorizing with hot-pink? –Marissa Patlingrao Cooley

Janet Jackson Rocks Super Short Hair: Love It or Hate It?

Rotello/MCP/Startraks

Bye-bye long, wavy tresses! Janet Jackson was snapped out and about in London yesterday sporting super short hair, making her the latest A-lister to join the increasingly long list of celebrities who are foregoing their long locks in favor of boyish crops. The iconic performer debuted the gelled-back look while dining in the British city, where she is on hand to promote her latest film, Why Did I Get Married, Too? While Janet’s had a few modish bobs in the past, we’ve never seen her go quite this short or boyish.  And though the new look is a far cry from the natural curls and shoulder-length styles that she’s been rocking recently, we aren’t opposed to the singer’s new low-maintenance style. Tell us: What do you think about Janet Jackson’s newly cropped slicked-back look? –David Yi

Salma Hayek Donates Gucci Gown to Benefit Haiti

Courtesy Gucci

Salma Hayek certainly grabbed the spotlight on the Cannes red carpet last week when she debuted the first-ever gown from Gucci Première, the brand’s new couture label, at the inaugural night screening of Robin Hood, but now she’s drawing attention for another reason. The actress donated the sweeping, one-shoulder gown to the Penélope Cruz/Chopard Auction, which took place in Cannes yesterday, to help raise money for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization. A lucky philanthropic bidder dished out 17,000 euros (about $21,000) for the one-of-a-kind Bordeaux silk-georgette dress, along with the original sketch for the gown, signed by Gucci creative director Frida Giannini, and cementing its status as a wearable work of art.

Robert Pattinson Comes Clean On His New Hair Cut

MMichael Rozman/Warner Bros.

After some did-he-or-didn’t-he speculation about his recent buzz cut, the formerly long-locked Robert Pattinson ditched the baseball cap that he was hiding under last weekend to reveal a new, noticeably shorter hairstyle on the Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday. The reason behind the sudden change? “Head lice,” he joked. “It’s three days old,” the 24-year-old Twilight hottie kidded to DeGeneres, saying “I got a terrible infestation of nits and I had to shave it all off.” Warned Ellen: “Don’t start that rumor.” Relax, Twihards: The real explanation behind the new close-crop is his new movie with Reese Witherspoon, Water For Elephants, which the actor is set to start filming in Los Angeles this Thursday. –Marissa Patlingrao Cooley
