Kate Hudson Named the New Face of Almay

It’s official: Kate Hudson has reached ultimate Hollywood Golden Girl status. Just this morning, Revlon Inc. named the fun-loving actress Almay’s new Global Brand Ambassador. In her new role, Kate will appear in television, print and internet ads worldwide with her first campaign for the brand scheduled to debut later this year. “Almay is known for its fresh, effortless approach to beauty,” Kate says in the official release. “At the end of the day we all want to have fun and feel beautiful– that’s what Almay is all about.” But don’t think Kate’s latest gig is just about looking pretty and having a good time. As the Global Brand Ambassador, Kate will also represent the brand’s ongoing philanthropic efforts, starting May 13 at the Almay Rainforest Concert in New York City. The concert benefits The Rainforest Foundation, founded by Sting and Trudie Styler to support and protect the world’s rainforests. With Kate’s signature hippie chic style, flawless complexion and mane of golden locks, we think she is the perfect choice for Almay. We can’t wait to see her new campaign! @Jenn – I’m not sure which company you’re thinking of but Almay DOES NOT test on animals, nor does their parent company, Revlon. Feel free to go to the PETA website for a complete list of companies that don’t test on animals. As a matter of fact, I recommend doing that BEFORE making false accusations in posts but, that’s just me.

What happened to Elaine Mellencamp? I hope they didn’t end her contract, it was nice to see someone over 40 promoting a line of cosmetics. Why is it that all the lines are now using actresses, what happened to using models. Revlon has a good thing going with Elle MacPherson, and why not. Lauren Hutton has her own line, and many of us grew up with her as the face of Ultima II, which is long gone. Kate Hudson – not impressed.

Kate is an ok choice. But, I would have personally chosen Anne Hathaway. I think she has more natural beauty and really cares for her skin. For some reason, I don’t think Kate will really use any of these products and is too carefree to put on any moisturizer at night or sunscreen in the morning.

I am going to be criticized for this comment, aren’t I? Oh well, this is my impression of Kate.

To “I guess”: Thank you for providing some comic relief. It’s funny to me to think that someone out there is lying in bed at night (or whatever) speculating on what Hollywood stars use moisturizer at night,and then goes on to opine on whether that qualifies them for a frigging beauty campaign. It’s a crazy world we live in!

To ‘Strange’: Kate is to be the face of Almay which is a makeup and skin care line. I don’t believe that Kate takes care of herself enough to be worthy of this line. Now, note that I said ‘I BELIEVE’. I could be wrong of course and I don’t lay awake at night thinking about it silly! Are you still confused?

I am in awe of kate’s talent for ceritang true masterpieces. Her songs stay with you long after you’ve heard them, they affect me deeply. I love the way she writes, she is a stunning story teller, beautifully poetic, haunting yet uplifting! 50 words for snow has to be savoured and experienced in one go, a real treat.
