Khloe Kardashian’s Empowerment Campaign

The reality star is taking a break from her busy fashion career–Khloe designs a line of clothes with her sisters’ for bebe and a jewelry collection for Virgin, Saints and Angels–to help empower young women. Khloe has joined forces with U by Kotex to launch the “The Declaration of Real Talk” campaign, a movement that encourages young women to speak-up and take control of their health and bodies and to help lead social change. We caught up with Khloe in New York City where she dished on her new project and how she is keeping everything balanced. You can help Khloe’s new cause by visiting ubykotex.com and signing the declaration. For each entry, a dollar will be donated to Girls For A Change, a national organization that empowers girls to create and lead social change within their communities.–Andrea DeSimone

Jennifer Love Hewitt Breaks Up with Her Short Bob

Scott/Startraks

We’ve heard of yo-yo dieting, but yo-yo hairdos? Just weeks after dramatically chopping her hair, Jennifer Love Hewitt has ditched the buzz-making “breakup bob” she debuted shortly after ending her relationship with fellow Ghost Whisperer star Jamie Kennedy. The actress–who is reportedly in a new relationship with actor-director (and Jenny McCarthy ex) Jim Asher–has apparently also moved on from that cropped haircut (which she denied had anything to do with splitting with Kennedy), stepping out in long, voluminous extensions yesterday. Is it just coincidence that she’s done with short hair now that she’s dating again? Tell us: Have you ever regretted a breakup haircut? – Marissa Patlingrao Cooley

Ken Paves On Wigging Out with Jessica Simpson

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

They were just wigging out! At least that’s what celebrity hair stylist Ken Paves says of the Twitter pictures with Jessica Simpson sporting some dramatic cropped dos earlier this week. “They were actually three new wigs that are coming out from [his and Simpson's hair line] Hairdo, and the final approval is Jessica’s,” Paves told reporters at Good Housekeeping‘s 125th anniversary celebration of their impromptu mile-high hair session, which included Simpson’s mother, Tina, and a flight attendant, who also tried on the looks. “[Jessica's] not just the president. She actually wears [the wigs],” he says. “She tries everything on and once we get her stamp of approval, it goes into production.” So what were the inspirations behind the neck-baring cuts? “One was just a short, ’60s pixie that my aunt could wear. That’s why I named it Aunt Vikki,” Paves explains. “The other one has a Victoria Beckham flair to it… [She's] my client and good friend and Jessica’s good friend.” With Simpson looking so gorgeous in the wigs, we can’t wait to see what new styles they come up with next! Ellen DeGeneres’ Energy Secret: ‘No Cake, No Cookies, No Candy’

Courtesy SHAPE

With two major gigs–as host of her own talk show and as an American Idol judge–along with side jobs as a face of brands like CoverGirl and Vitaminwater Zero, it’s amazing that Ellen DeGeneres has the energy to eat dinner, much less keep her audience in stitches. So, what’s the slim 52-year-old comedian’s secret to staying energized and fit? “No cake, no cookies, no candy,” says the cover model, talking about her “sugar fast,” in this month’s issue of Shape. A committed vegan, DeGeneres also says her regular regime includes “no animals, no dairy, nothing processed; a lot of soup, veggies, rice, beans, legumes.” And she views these dietary restrictions as a positive thing, saying, “I want to be on my toes; I want to have energy. And as much as the diet seems like a sacrifice, it’s helping me.” She’s also a devotee of daily sun salutations: “I first started doing power yoga in L.A., which really makes no sense,” she jokes. “Power yoga? It’s the opposite of what it should be. Yoga should calm you down!” And how does the star find time for exercise in her crazy, frenetic life? “It’s hard,” she says. “But you have to make time to take care of yourself.” To read more from Ellen, pick up the May issue of Shape or visit shape.com. – Marissa Patlingrao Cooley

Jersey Shore’s Guidettes Get a High-Fashion Makeover in Charm School

Danielle Levitt/Harper’s Bazaar

Good-bye Ed Hardy! The ladies of the Jersey Shore have ditched their bedazzled minidresses for some serious high-fashion–courtesy of Harper’s Bazaar, which also sent Snooki, J-Woww and Sammi “Sweetheart” to etiquette lessons with Emily Post’s great great grandaughter Lizzie Post and Manhattan socialite–and fellow reality star–Tinsley Mortimer. “I know a couple things about manners,” Snooki tells the fashion magazine. “I just haven’t been using them.” Donning gowns from Marchesa, Chado Ralph Rucci and J. Mendel, the self-described “guidettes” looked every bit high-society, but their Jersey Shore style isn’t something they are giving up for good–and for Snooki, that means keeping the infamous bump. “It was a teen Guidette thing, and when everyone grew out of it, I just kept it,” she says. In fact, the pint-sized reality star is even “launching the Snookit,” her own version of the Bumpit! To hear more from the Jersey Shore guidettes, pick up the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar, or visit harpersbazaar.com. Tell us: What do you think of Snooki, JWoww and Sammi’s high-fashion makeover? Is this a look they should keep? --Andrea DeSimone
