Vanessa Hudgens’ Style Crush: Mary-Kate Olsen!

Vanessa Hudgens‘ main squeeze may be BF Zac Efron, but her style crush is none other than her Beastly costar Mary-Kate Olsen. “I love her!” says Hudgens in the May “Young Hollywood” issue of Nylon, gushing about her taste-making castmate in this summer’s upcoming teenage riff on the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale. “I used to be in her fan club!” Presumably, that was back before the two got to know each other on the movie set, but still, the former High School Musical star’s fashion awe did resurface when the stylish new friends  spent their downtime checking out the local retail scene. “When we were in Montreal, we’d go shopping and [Mary-Kate would] take me to vintage stores,” explains Hudgens. “And I would literally just follow her around being like, ‘Help me! What do you look for? Please tell me. Give me your shirts. What’s your shirt secret?’” Hey, wouldn’t we all like to know? Heidi Klum Gives Jay Leno A Hair Makeover!

Heidi Klum has been known to change her do whenever she gets restless—and now she’s bringing Jay Leno along with her for the hair-transforming ride! On Tuesday’s Tonight Show, the supermodel and Project Runway judge took it upon herself to alter the late night talk show host’s silver mane by adding dark spray to enhance his overall look. “You know, I think you should really just go for it!” she says, before teasing up Leno’s mop with a comb, then proceeding to color his entire head with the spray. “You have hair, not like my husband. You can actually do something with it,” she says enthusiastically. And after drenching the comedian”s locks to her liking, she sits back down in her seat, patting her hands together. “That’s perfect!” she says, satisfied. Another day, another successful transformation for the fashionista! –David Yi

Oprah Puts Her Money On Michelle Obama’s Style Favorite, J.Crew

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

Oprah Winfrey apparently knows a good investment when she sees one–and in this case, she saw it on Michelle Obama. Yesterday, while hosting J.Crew’s Creative Director Jenna Lyons on a special “Dream Jobs” episode of her show, WWD reports, the media mogul admitted that after first seeing Mrs. O dressed in the affordable J.Crew cardigan, sweater and skirt ensemble she wore on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in October 2008, she actually became an investor in the company. “The very first time I saw the First Lady, even before she became the First Lady, wearing J. Crew–full disclosure here–I went and bought some J.Crew stock,” admitted Oprah. The host also hinted that putting her money on Michelle’s mix-it-up, high-low look was indeed a lucrative bet, saying, “And that [investment] was a very good decision.” – Marissa Patlingrao Cooley

Kristen Bell Dabbles In Shoe Design–With a Little Help from Some Young Friends

Kathy Hutchins/Hutchins

What girl hasn’t dreamed of designing her own shoes? This Tuesday Kristen Bell finally got to live out that fantasy–and it was all in the name of a good cause. Joining 25 young patients in the playroom at an Art of Elysium design workshop at L.A.’s Shriners Hospitals for Children, the actress put pen to paper and sketched her first-ever heel for a charity initiative with online shoe society ShoeDazzle. “I’ve never designed in my life,” she admitted to PEOPLE, but luckily her new young friends were on hand to weigh in. The end result? A faux-leather gladiator-bootie, which Bell dubbed “The Midge.” Kristen’s shoe will be produced for Kim Kardashian‘s online shoe club ShoeDazzle later in the summer, with 100% of proceeds benefitting Art of Elysium, a nonprofit program that brings actors and musicians into the lives of seriously ill children. “I’m in a profession of vanity, so this is grounding for me, and I hope fun for the kids,” she explained of spending the day with the children, who also did a lot of playing, painting and drawing of their own. Kristen’s shoe will hit ShoeDazzle.com this August, but in the meantime, check out her sketch of “The Midge” below. “You can wear these anywhere,” said Bell, “and hopefully they’ll be comfortable.” – reporting by Maureen Harrington
