Proenza Schouler Collaborates To Produce Their First Jean Line

Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss Pay Tribute to Friend Alexander McQueen

PA Photos/Landov

Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss paid tribute Thursday to their recently deceased friend, designer Alexander McQueen, on the eve of London Fashion Week. Wearing print dresses from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection they took to the catwalk, along with McQueen’s muse, Annabelle Neilson, at the Fashion For Relief Haiti charity show at Somerset House in London. The three pals were joined on the catwalk by Geri Halliwell, Pixie Geldof, Denise Van Outen, model Erin O’Connor, and even America’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan. At a celebrity auction later, Moss brushed away tears and had to be comforted by Neilson as Topshop boss Sir Philip Green bid £100,000 ( for the Alexander McQueen mini dress she wore on the catwalk. The show, which raised a reported £1 million to benefit Haiti, followed Wednesday’s announcement that the 40-year-old designer died from asphyxiation after hanging himself in a closet at his Mayfair, London apartment on February 11th. –Liz Corcoran

‘Sexier and More Confident’ Heidi Montag Designing Clothing For Her New Body

Chris Weeks/WireImage

Continuing her aesthetic overhaul, Heidi Montag, who famously underwent ten plastic surgery procedures in one day to become what she calls “the new me,” has also tapped into her inner-fashion designer. The reality star packed four dresses of her own creation for her trip to Las Vegas last weekend, where she co-hosted Pure nightclub’s Valentine’s Day bash with husband Spencer Pratt. On the red carpet, the 23 year-old opted for a body-hugging, fuchsia dress. “Pink is a color full of love and it’s so vibrant and beautiful–and it was, of course, very festive,” she tells PEOPLE. “It was exactly what I wanted to wear for my new body. I’ve never felt sexier or more confident in my life. It was revealing but still kept something to the imagination. It hugged all my curves perfectly.” As for where she finds inspiration, Montag says, “Most of my inspiration comes from old movies and I have tons of books on old Hollywood. I just love the magnificence of that time–the sequins, the sexiness. I want to capture the true luster of Hollywood in all my designs.” Montag also professes her admiration for designers like Coco Chanel (“so classic and timeless”) and Dolce & Gabbana (“They have such a sexy shape and have women looking their best in every silhouette,” she says). Expect more Montag-made clothing to surface: “This is just the beginning. I’d really love to eventually wear mostly my only designs. And I really would love to do a low end line [for my] fans and it can be really accessible and then a one of a kind couture line to really showcase my creativity.” But just around the corner? “Look out for my bikini line this summer!” – Jen Garcia

Chanel Introduces a Line of Temporary Tattoos

In honor of the newly redesigned Chanel.com, the French design house is introducing Les Trompe l’Oeil Temporary Skin Art. The graphic adornments, created by Global Creative Director Peter Philips, were first seen in the Chanel Spring-Summer 2010 runway presentation. “For the show, I wanted to play with the Chanel symbols: pearls, chains and wheat, as well as blossoms and small swallows that announce the arrival of spring,” Philips says. And now that they’ve made their way off the catwalk, the tattoos can adorn your skin for $75 for a package of five sheets, including a total of 55 designs.

Jamie McCarthy/Getty; Jason Merritt/Getty

Listen up Lady Gaga! Shannen Doherty is a huge fan and willing to wear any crazy, over-the-top ensemble created by the pop star herself. “I would wear anything she made, only if she was right next to my side,” Doherty told PEOPLE at Tuesday’s G-Star Raw runway fashion show in New York. “If she walked in with me somewhere I’d do it!” The 90210 alum is already no stranger to media attention and admires Gaga’s uniqueness and ability to raise eyebrows without caring about her critics. “I think she fantastic and she’s amazing,” said Doherty. “What she does, she does and I love that she doesn’t care what others really think. She rocks it out with full confidence.” For her own everyday look, Doherty says she like to stick with comfort when it comes to her clothes. “My style really is whatever I feel comfortable wearing. That’s my style. I’m all about the material and how it fits.” And for designer labels, the actress says has a few favorites but isn’t all about the labels. “Some of my favorites are Zac Posen, who has some amazing collections right now, and I’m always a die hard Chanel girl always,” she said. “I like it because it’s just classic. It doesn’t get any better with Chanel.” – Paul Chi

Olympic Ice Skater Johnny Weir To Turn Fashion Designer

Juan Soliz/Pacific Coast News

Johnny Weir may have dazzled on Tuesday when he competed in a glittery black and pink corseted number at the Vancouver Olympics, but his aspirations extend past winning an Olympic medal; the former world champion is taking a serious dive into fashion. The 25-year old confirmed these new sartorial ambitions in an interview on HBO’s Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel, where he said he would go into fashion in a “big way,” opening his own multi-category collection — as well as retail stores. Surprising news? Not so much, as the athlete and star of the Sundance Channel reality series Be Good Johnny Weir has been co-designing his own outfits with costume designer, Stephanie Handler. “At this point, he knows enough about the amount of work that goes into designing to do his own,” Handler tells WWD. “He brings in sketches to me and I work with him to clarify things. He’s really into choosing everything all the way down to the last details. I’m sure he will wait until the Olympics are over and then he will get down to business.” But what will the new line look like? If his track record of wearing anything and everything that sparkles is any indication of what’s to come, we’re expecting some big-time extravagant flamboyance! Tell us: Are you excited to check out Johnny Weir’s clothing line? David Yi
